Since Saturday, I've received over 40 calls from different numbers like these at all times, day and night. I've started blocking them and plan to keep doing so whenever they ring.

Every single one of these wangiri scam calls should be reported to the police. Hardly any ever get reported so the authorities don’t really understand how widespread it is, so they don’t take much action. Right now the UK is getting bombarded with thousands of these scam calls. Am I the only person actually reporting them? This site has a link to 'Action Fraud' just above the hotspot map. Click that, then head to the 'reporting' section to lodge it as a phishing attempt. Just had a call from +995591203250, looks like it’s from Georgia. These scammers are total cowards, I’m definitely reporting them to Action Fraud.

+226 24 46 66 86 After getting loads of calls from different numbers in Burkina Faso, each time just the last two digits changing, I decided to block the entire country. On my iPhone, I added +226 as a contact named Burkina Faso, saved it, and then blocked the contact. That gave me some relief until calls started coming from Zimbabwe! So I did the same with the Zimbabwe code +263, added it to contacts and blocked it. I’m sure the scammers will try another country next, but at least for now, I’m free of their calls.

I heard “You have won,” and hung up straight away. Now they keep calling on and off, with the latest one at 9:16 this morning. It’s really pissing me off. Whoever these folks are, they’re seriously driving me up the wall. They’re so persistent it’s mad, I can’t believe it. I’m honestly thinking of getting the police involved because this has to end! No matter how many times I block them, they just keep coming back using different numbers. I noticed they won’t let you pick up properly; it goes straight to an answerphone with hold music. I stayed on hold for like 5 seconds before hanging up and that charge me £2.50! That’s like thirty quid a minute if you actually listen. Don’t really know what to do next, but I’m definitely gonna call my phone company tomorrow and see if they can block them completely.
