+226 64 54 96 59 rang me on WhatsApp once but hung up straight away. I didn’t pick up cos I thought it might be dodgy. They tried calling again after that. I’ve blocked them on WhatsApp now and put my phone on silent to avoid picking up by mistake.

They've been ringing my number all day today. As always, I ignored the calls from numbers I didn't recognise. The second time, they just rang for like 2 seconds and then hung up. So seriously, NEVER pick up if it’s an unknown number. If it’s important, they'll leave a message. Watch out!

Guess I got off easy, only had one call I didn’t pick up, then I just blocked the number. Someone mentioned Truecaller down here, it’s a free app that can block whole country codes - handy! I use Callblocker on my home phone, it’s got a similar feature. Best thing to do is not lose your temper, just be clever about it.

Been getting calls from +226 Burkina Faso loads of times in the past week, probably over 50! I tried calling back once and it cost me a few quid just for a second. My partner did the same and ended up getting charged more than £6! Now we’re also getting these quick ring calls that hang up, from Russia and some other places too. Proper annoying.

I keep getting loads of calls on my iPhone XR from places like Burkina Faso, Lithuania, Russia, Turkmenistan, Georgia, Congo, and a bunch more. I just block them straight away and never pick up or ring back, cos I don't know anyone in those countries. There's no point whatsoever in calling these scam callers back. Fingers crossed they'll lose interest soon and bother someone else instead. You'd think there'd be some sort of way to stop this kind of scam by now.

In the past 6 hours, ive gotten calls that ring once then stop from these numbers: +995 555 095 467 Georgia, +257 71 99 64 14 Burundi, +993 69845920 Turkmenistan, +226 24 46 67 03 Burkina Faso, +263 7 71538468 Zimbabwe, and 3 more from Burkina Faso (+226...). Everytime it rings it just stops, no one speaks. At first I thought it might be someone I know. I called back one time, but hung up right when I heard something about winning a prize. Ive blocked all these numbers but it looks like as soon as one gets blocked, they just use a new one to call. Very annoying.

These numbers +226 +223 +993 were ringing me all night, just like others said. They’d call, ring once, then just hang up. The last digits always switched up every time they called. I spoke to EE and they said quite a few people have been complaining and they’re trying to block calls from that country. Honestly, this really shouldn’t be happening at all.

I had the exact same problem, loads of missed calls that just rang once and then stopped, happening all day and night. At first I was blocking each number but it got really annoying after a while. Then I found a fix that actually worked for me. I ended up BLOCKING THE ENTIRE COUNTRY CODE (BURKINA FASO +226) or whichever country you wanna block. All you gotta do is download the TRUECALLER app (it's free) and it gives you an option to block calls by country code. Sorted my issue completely.

I was having the exact same problem, getting loads of missed calls that ring once and then stop, all day and night. At first I kept blocking each number but that got really annoying after a while. Then I came across a fix that actually did the trick for me. I ended up blocking the entire country code (Burkina Faso +226). You just need to download the TRUECALLER app (it's free) and there’s a feature that lets you block calls from entire countries. That’s what sorted it out for me.

This method works with Android phones only, not sure if it’s the same for iPhones:::: First, open up your dialler and tap the three dots in the top right corner. Then choose Blocked or Blocked calls, after that select Blocked rules and then Blocklist. From there you can add the country code +226 manually which should block any calls coming from Burkina Faso. Give it a go!

Got calls every hour last night from 226244666 and then other 2 numbers with same start. It rings just a couple seconds then drops. I blocked the number but they keep calling with slightly different endings. First call was some robocall saying I won £50,000 (or maybe dollars). Same kinda thing what others mentioned here.

The first time I called back cause I noticed a missed call, the message said I’d won £50,000 or something, so seriously don’t bother calling back! The pattern is pretty clear, best thing is to block all of them and dont bother calling back (they’ll probably charge you). They seem to have an endless bunch of numbers all starting with +226 244 66685 and just swap out the last two digits. Fingers crossed they run out of numbers soon. WARNING!! I got about 8 calls yesterday from these annoying numbers, so I blocked them all. But silly me, I accidentally tapped one and called back. I hung up straight away but still got hit with a £2.50 fee on my bill. Then I woke up to 4 more missed calls overnight and had another one this morning! Could it be related to that new HouseParty app or something? I got LOADS of calls from numbers kinda like this one today, each one just a digit different. No matter how many times I blocked 'em, they kept coming. The only thing I did differently was installing HouseParty!

I reckon this might have something to do with the house party app. I grabbed it a couple days back, so maybe that’s why I’m gettin these calls too, just like someone else mentioned here.

Got calls from four different numbers this morning, all were pretty much the same except the last two digits and they all began with +226244666. When I tried to call back, my phone provider charged me. Don’t bother calling them back, you’ll get stung for it. Best thing to do is just block any number that starts with those digits.

Got a call that I missed from +226 24 46 65 39 around 1:55am, then later at 7:25pm this evening, I noticed a one beep call from +226 24 46 66 48. I've blocked both of these numbers straight away.

I kept getting calls from a bunch of numbers that all seemed to be from Burkina Faso, but every time I block one, the last four numbers just switch up. Looks like a total scam to me, so I've reported it to the phone company. I got curious and called one back, and ended up being charged £2.50 for less than half a minute! Seriously, don’t fall for it like I almost did.

If someone rings you and then just drops the call after one or two rings, it’s probably a trick to get you to ring them back and rack up expensive charges. These costs can be as high as £20.50 a minute or even more. Best advice is don’t bother returning the call, if it’s genuine, they’ll ring you again. People pulling these dodgy scams are honestly just out for a quick penny.

I really hope everyone who's looking into this number also takes a moment to report it to the police's database. I saw a post about it a few hours ago, around three back from this one. Honestly, these scams won't end unless people take it seriously and report every time they get these calls - it's not enough to just comment here, they need to inform the authorities too if they want the calls to stop.
