I've been receiving dodgy calls regarding fraudulent credit cards. Let’s be clear: legitimate banks don't ring you from a PRIVATE NUMBER followed by a number like 1300901479. To be honest, proper banks don't usually reach out like this; how would they possibly know if anything fishy has occurred unless you tell them first? Just brush off these calls and, if necessary, get in touch with the police.

I received a phone call that was clearly pre-recorded, purporting to be from the fraud department of 28 Degrees. They urged me to press any key to continue, but I chose to disconnect instead. To be on the safe side, I rang 28 Degrees directly using their official number, 1300 552 079, and they confirmed that the call was indeed valid. Interestingly, I'd reported my credit card as compromised just a few hours earlier.
