I got a voicemail from someone named Joshua asking me to call him back before the end of the day about something personal. When I tried ringing back, it was outside office hours, and the message was from a woman whose accent didn’t sound local. I even called the mobile number he left, but got the same recorded message. This whole thing feels a bit off and caught me by surprise.

I tried calling the number he gave but got a message saying it was outside office hours, same when I called the mobile. I’m pretty sure I don’t owe anything that a debt collector would be after. Still, it’s a bit unsettling.

So my neighbour got a text asking her to have me tell my grandson Josh to ring this number, and they even gave some sort of reference code. When I phoned them, they then asked for my granddaughter’s phone number, which, naively, I handed over. They mentioned something about recording the call. Later on, my daughter rang them herself and was told they offer support for folks needing quick cash and things like that.

We keep getting calls meant for a guy named Joshua P Want. Ever since we switched to this new number, there’s been a bunch of calls, both from call centres and automated robots, all asking Joshua to ring 1300 765 788. We’ve told them a few times to take our number off their calling list but they just don’t stop. It’s getting quite annoying now.

So this bloke who said his name was Tayler called me up, asking me to give my neighbour his number. When I asked what was going on, he just said it was a private matter. I don’t see why I should be the middleman when he could just talk to her directly. Seems dodgy to me!
