10 yearsGot a couple of calls from someone named David claiming to be from BT Internet, saying there’s an issue with my internet. He kept asking to talk to the account holder but wouldn’t say anything else or leave a message. He rang twice in one afternoon, last time around 2.55 pm. I didn’t give out any info or mention that this number isn’t linked to the internet, and although the name he mentioned is the main resident, they’re not the account holder. Also, BT doesn’t have the contract for either the phone or the internet here.DavidBT10 yearsGot a call from someone trying to trick me into putting on some remote access software. I played along for a bit just for laughs, then got a bit bored and bluntly asked why they thought they could fool an IT consultant with three decades under his belt. I didn’t hold back on being cheeky either.10 yearsMy elderly mother got a call from this number, with a person on the line saying they were the head tech operator at Virgin Media. After my mum ended the call twice, the caller just kept ringing back. She said some bloke, whose name she actually gave, was trying to hack into her computer. When mum finally hung up for good, she phoned Virgin to see if the call was genuine - turns out it wasn’t - but Virgin didn’t seem very bothered about it.Virgin MediaVirgin10 yearsGot a ring from this number earlier, some bloke claimed he was from the IT team of the internet gateway server working with BT and Sky. He asked me to turn on my computer, saying there was an internet issue. I told him to jog on, said I knew it was a dodgy call. He swore it wasn’t a scam, but I just said cheers and hung up. Really odd, not sure what that was about.10 yearsYet another phone number linked to scammers trying to trick you into downloading malicious software onto your device.10 yearsGot a call supposedly from Virgin Media, saying they needed to sort out an issue with my computer. Thing is, my pc’s fine, no issues at all. They just asked me to turn on my PE or something like that. Bit fishy if you ask me.Virgin Media10 yearsSomeone masquerading as a Virgin Media representative contacted me, claiming they were there to resolve an issue with my computer. The catch? There was no issue at all! They insisted that I turn my device on. Seems pretty dodgy to me!Virgin Media11 yearsI've been getting calls from this number repeatedly, yet every time I answer, it's just silence. Seriously, don’t waste your time picking it up!11 yearsThey just ended the call with a quick "bye" like they wanted me to ring some expensive number or maybe they had to jump onto another call.11 yearsWhen I picked up the call, there was complete silence on the other end.Submit Your Own Report (098692003)
