Got a call at 8.17 on a Saturday morning, didn’t hang about to chat with whoever it was. Turns out it was someone saying they were from TalkTalk or something.

So, this number has rung me twice in the last few days. Both times, the bloke said he was from Talk Talk. When he called the second time, I told him I actually work as a BT Openreach Engineer, so why would I even bother with Talk Talk? He just ended the call straightaway.

Total scam, got called and it was dodgy for sure.

098742732 - ANOTHER CALL FROM TALK TALK PRETENDING TO BE TECH SUPPORT. I told them I was starting up my computer, then just left the phone off the hook and headed out for the day. Sorted!

Got a call I didn’t answer at 8:45 this morning. The number looked unfamiliar, so I looked it up here. Just as I thought, it was one of those annoying calls! I’ll make sure to tell talk talk about it.

Had someone claiming to be from TalkTalk trying to “fix” my fibre optic internet because they said it was too slow. Sounded legit at first, but then I started getting suspicious, and anyone could easily fall for it. I told them to call me back another time, but they haven’t given up - calling me up to 5 times a day since last week! Now I recognise the number and they even block it sometimes, showing up as unavailable. Definitely feels like just another scam to me.

Got a ring from this number on the 16th of August. Some bloke said he was Steve from TalkTalk. I just told him to jog on and ended the call.

On the morning of Saturday 20th August 2016, around 9am, my wife saw a missed call from a number we didn't know. She called it back because we were curious, but noticed it was just a 9 digit number (098742732). When she rang, there was a strange sound, almost like a fax tone, though we haven’t had a fax machine for ages, so she hung up straight away. It’s a good job too, especially after reading what other people have said about this number on the ‘who-called’ website!

Got a call earlier from a lady with an Asian accent claiming to be from Talk Talk. She said it was something to do with my broadband, but the number she called from looked dodgy, so I just ended the call straight away. Pretty sure it was a scam.

Got a call from some guy, sounded like he was Indian or Aussie, said he was from TalkTalk. He was trying to convince me my internet had problems. I wasn’t having any of it and just laughed, then told him he was talking rubbish. He wasn’t happy and, in a really dodgy Australian accent, told me to "f#ck off!" Honestly, made answering that call a bit of a laugh.

This morning I got a call like that too, and I ended up ringing TalkTalk about it. They said quite a few people have been getting these dodgy phone calls lately. The bloke on the line was really worked up, saying my router was catching a virus that was messing up their servers and I needed to install some software to fix it. I wasn’t having any of it, told him to jog on and dropped the call. TalkTalk gave me some good tips to handle it, so hopefully this stops these muppets from troubling me again.

Got a call on the 16th of August 2020 from someone claiming my accounts had been compromised. They were talking about updating my system and that some functions were being switched off for security reasons. They even got remote access to my computer and said they’d sort me a refund of £200 because of the mess. I’m glad I don’t use online or phone banking, or else I’d probably have been scammed. Watch out, these tricksters are really good at sounding legit!

Got a scam call trying to trick me into handing over my bank info. Complete rubbish.

Got a call on Saturday the 20th of August at 10:05 from a guy with an Indian accent. Found it really hard to follow what he was saying. He insisted he was my internet service provider and kept saying I was using Windows on my computer, but I was actually on Linux then. Had a similar call before, but never someone so pushy who even mentioned TalkTalk as my provider. Funny thing is, I’d just left TalkTalk recently after being with them for ages.

They called me twice this morning, once around 10.30 and again close to 11.30. I just didn't answer since the number was unfamiliar. After seeing these reviews, I’m glad I left it alone.

Got a ring from this number around 8.20 on Saturday morning, but missed the call. I've had calls before from someone claiming to be with TalkTalk, saying my computer had some kind of problem. I ended up hanging up straight away before they could say more.

Got a call around 8:50 on Saturday morning from a guy with an Asian accent, said his name was Daniel and wanted to speak to us by name. But when my husband asked him which company he was calling from, he just ended the call. Really weird.

Got a call from a woman speaking with an Asian accent claiming to be from Talk Talk. She asked loads of questions about my internet. Pretty sure it was a scam because the caller ID looked spoofed. Definitely not a legit call.

Got a couple of calls from this number, they said they were from Talk Talk saying my laptop had a virus and I had to send it in. They sounded pretty believable, knew a fair bit about me. They said they'd ring back in 10 minutes once my laptop was switched on. While I waited, I looked up the number online and saw lots of warnings. When they called again, I told them Google labelled them as scammers and I’d be contacting Talk Talk myself. Then he got rude, claiming he was from their tech team and told me to do what I want, calling me a proper insult. Lovely behaviour!

Totally a con. Had a good laugh messing about with them this morning. The person on the phone rattled off loads of info, trying to make me believe they were from TalkTalk. I straight up told them TalkTalk don’t need me to do anything to sort my internet. I rang TalkTalk myself after and gave them the number the dodgy caller used. They were really helpful and even provided a code to block certain callers. Fingers crossed they ring back so I can chew up more of their time and hopefully stop them from bothering someone who might fall for it.

Got a call like that too, some TalkTalk bloke saying my computer was downloading stuff without me knowing. It was about 8.15 on a Saturday morning! Asked him what the hell he wanted and if there was a better time to ring back. Told him to basically sod off, what a load of idiots!

Got a missed call from this number and didn’t bother ringing back. Later on, I searched it here and got a bit suspicious - it only had 9 digits, whereas our mobiles and landlines always have 11 digits. Bit dodgy if you ask me!

Got a call supposedly from TalkTalk, told me my PC was hooked up to their server and blasting out loads of messages. They wanted me to fire up my computer and do whatever they said. I was like, seriously? If it’s already connected to their server, why do I need to turn it on? Nah, cheers but no thanks, hung up straight away!
