Got a call today 01/11/14, some person pretending to be from Eircom. They started by telling me to switch on my computer, which seemed odd. I told them I’d prefer a letter to verify who they were, and then they just cut the call. Definitely a scam, no doubt about it.

Got a call earlier asking if I was the one who owned the landline. The line was really scratchy and the person said they were from eircom. Then suddenly the call dropped. I kinda suspected it was a scam anyway, especially since I’m pretty cautious about numbers starting with 0098.

Someone rang me claiming they were from Microsoft and wanted me to install a programme on my PC. I'm in the Netherlands and it's a bit baffling how they managed to get hold of my number.

I got a call from this number but there was so much static that I couldn’t make out what they were saying. They’ve been ringing me over and over though. Is this even allowed? Can we report the number for sending spam calls? I’m not really sure how the rules work for phone calls.

This morning I got a call from some bloke who was insisting he wasn’t a hacker. Honestly, I’m sick of getting calls from this number. Wouldn’t recommend picking up if it rings for you either.

This number kept ringing me loads, saying my computer had a virus. But the moment I mention I use a Mac, they just cut off the call. Quite dodgy if you ask me.

This number has been calling me several times, always talking about issues with my computer. Today’s call was awful though - the bloke was shockingly rude and made disgusting sexual remarks to me which really frightened me. Does anyone know how I can block this number for good???

This number rang me up twice today, and it's definitely dodgy. The first call was from a bloke saying he was with eircom, then later a lady said she was from microsoft, both times they knew my name. They both sounded like they were speaking from one of those call centres, probably in India judging by their accents. They kept telling me my computer was infected with malware and tried to guide me through some “fix” steps.

But the thing is, I’m not an eircom customer and I don’t have any sort of account with microsoft that would tie my details to anything like this. Total scam if you ask me.

Got a call just before midday, my mum picked up and ended up stuck on the phone for nearly two hours. The callers said they were from Eircom and warned about some virus infecting our computer. They tried to trick her into giving out her credit card info and push some suspicious software downloads. There were two men with Indian accents, kept putting her on hold multiple times.

I've been getting constant calls from them, and they just don't accept a simple no. Pretty annoying and really pushy too. At one point, they even asked about the price of my computer and tried to dig up info on other people living with me. So frustrating!

Absolute scam artists. They ring up acting like they’re from eircom, saying your computer is messing up their network. Their aim is to trick you into installing some dodgy software. Just have a laugh and be as cheeky as you want with them, but whatever you do, don’t do what they tell you!
