You see, his broadband service has switched from Shell to TalTalk following Shell’s sale of its operations. Upon reviewing his latest bill, I discovered charges for two brief calls made to the number 09068788123, each costing £2.23. This puzzling charge didn't occur when he was with Shell. What on earth is happening? Considering my brother has suffered two strokes in recent years, which have understandably impacted his mental faculties and vision, I can’t help but wonder if he's being exploited or perhaps even scammed. To add insult to injury, it seems that since this switch, his monthly bill has surged by around £5.00 due, in part, to these exorbitant call charges. Never pick up any calls from numbers starting with 09 - it’s a total rip-off. Make sure you report them to 'Action Fraud'; they handle these scams, but it’s important to report every phone scam so they can prioritise cases. Also, drop an email to your MP (I know they’re busy, but it’s worth it) with info about these calls and ask why the government hasn’t enforced tech to block foreign crooks from using UK landlines to trick people. I got a reply a while back, but unless loads of MPs get asked, nothing will really change.
