I received a call from this number on Friday, May 10 at precisely 13:12, which was from 09068781119. They charged me 0.30 for the access, and a whopping £2.00 as the service charge. Upon answering, I was abruptly disconnected after merely 30 seconds, leaving me with a bill of £2.89 courtesy of EE for what clearly seems to be an unsolicited scam. While these types of calls aren't technically illegal in the UK, it’s high time the Government stepped in to put a stop to such practices!

This week, my mother noticed a charge of £2.17 from a company on her bill. Interestingly, she had not made any phone calls to that company. However, she did receive a call from a broadband company and a person claiming that her washing machine's warranty was about to expire. It's worth noting that my mother does not have any appliance cover.

It’s been mentioned by numerous folks that the individual orchestrating this con is a known fraudster by the name of Stuart Wright, residing at 133 Anglian Way, Coventry, CV3 1QR. I had the audacity to approach him at his residence, but was met with nothing but foul language and hostility. One can only hope that someone takes it upon themselves to give this lowlife a taste of his own medicine!

This number is linked to ITV competitions. Every time you call, it costs you £2, and if you send a text like APP to 81119, it’ll charge you £2 plus your normal text rate. Make sure you check the small print and terms and conditions of each competition - it’s on you if you don’t. They clearly explain this on all their contests. THIS NUMBER IS TRUSTWORTHY - ignore any bad reviews where people haven’t bothered reading the rules properly or claim they never entered but probably did recently. Most are just trying to blame someone else because they didn’t win.

Our Virgin Media phone bill included three calls to a specific number, each of which was charged at £1.77 (excluding VAT). Interestingly, these calls were made just a few minutes apart. The strange thing is that no one in our household remembers making any calls to this particular "non-geographical" number. Upon conducting a reverse look-up, we discovered that these prefixes are registered to China Telecom - which raises even more questions.

I was charged £2.13 for a call to a number that we never dialed from our landline. Moreover, I wasn't even in the country at the time, so it's impossible for me to have made the call! After reading similar experiences shared by others who investigated the issue, it appears that this is a reverse charge scam. Unfortunately, TalkTalk proved to be completely unhelpful in resolving the problem. Though I strongly believe they are aware of such scams, I will contact their customer service to discuss the matter and request a refund.

I suspect this might be a fraudulent scheme, but BT claims it is a dedicated service line for ITV competitions.
