I was astonished to find that I was billed for ringing HMRC on this number! Surely, contacting the Inland Revenue ought to be complimentary. Why on earth was I charged for it?

Got an email claiming I had a tax refund waiting from "HMRC." It asked me to click on a link gov.uk-confirm.org to figure out how much I’m owed. When I did, it showed a phone number, 09050040320, to call. I rang and a woman picked up, said she’d connect me to the tax office, then stuck me on hold with some music playing. After a few minutes and racking up £1.55 per minute, I gave up. Later, I checked HMRC properly and found out they don’t send emails like that at all. Total scam!

I found 09050040320 while trying to reach HMRC via a Google search. Next thing I know, I get slapped with a £59 bill, which is just ridiculous. Turns out, it’s actually some window company calling themselves EE. I even asked EE about it and they said there’s nothing they can do. Honestly, avoid this number at all costs. Google really needs to crack down on stuff like this.

Got a call from this number on 20/12/2020 saying they were from HMRC. When my phone bill came, I saw I’d been charged £47 for that single call. I rang my phone company and they told me it was a window company, which I knew wasn’t right. I asked them to send me the number involved and that’s how I found this site.

Got a call from this number on 20th December 2020, pretending to be HMRC. Just checked my phone bill and was shocked to see a £47 charge for that single call. Contacted my phone company and they told me it was actually linked to some window firm, which makes no sense. Asked them for the exact number and now here I am, trying to figure this out.

Rang my phone service to check and they said it was some window company, which it definitely isn’t. Asked them to send me the exact number they were talking about, and now I’m stuck with it here.

We ended up paying £60 because the first HMRC number that came up was a scam. My little sister has only just started working and needed to check on her tax code. She didn’t know how to find the right contact, so she searched online and took the first number Google showed her. Please, never ring this number or even pick up if it calls you!

I've just noticed I've been billed £27.47 along with an extra £1.51. My mobile plan is meant to be just £9 a month, not this shocking £40 or so! It’s HMRC, and I was under the impression that the call wouldn't cost a penny! What a nuisance! 😩

Please do keep me in the loop! If you're facing tax issues, it’s utterly unfair to burden you with exorbitant phone bills. My local council or tax office completely dropped the ball on my taxes, and I was blindsided by the consequences.
