Can you believe it? I just stood there for what felt like an eternity, ringing HMRC, and it ended up costing me £96 for a mere half hour of waiting! It's a total outrage!

I recently rang up HMRC and found myself on hold for a whopping 11 minutes, only to end up shelling out £47! It’s utterly infuriating to think that this sort of thing has been happening for quite some time now, yet there appears to be no action taken to put an end to this daylight robbery.

I rang up the number 09037049008, completely oblivious to the fact that it was a premium-rate call. You see, I’ve got myself a contract with a £0 cap, so imagine my surprise when I found myself stuck in a queue, waiting for ages - I reckon I was on hold for well over an hour! Now I’m facing a staggering bill of £290, which I’m contesting with my provider since I thought the cap meant I wouldn't go over. Is there anyone out there who could lend a hand with this situation? I’d really appreciate any guidance! You can reach me at 07869 673 495. Cheers!

I ended up waiting for this number, which is supposedly the HMRC contact as per a Google search, for a whopping 14 minutes and ended up with a bill of £56.60. This reeks of a scam and violates trading regulations. I'd strongly advise against handing over any money; this is outright illegal and nothing short of extortion!

I rang this number out of sheer desperation, given that locating an alternative contact for HMRC seemed utterly futile. It's utterly absurd that we’re left to sift through the internet just to get in touch with anyone! I think HMRC ought to take some responsibility in this situation, especially considering how these con artists exploit unsuspecting individuals. After two long hours on the line, I still hadn’t managed to speak to anyone - I was cut off four times, and I’ve ended up shelling out £195! Honestly, the entire situation is simply scandalous!

I received a phone call from this number, where the caller claimed to represent A2B Telecom Limited. Curiosity piqued, I enquired about the purpose of his call and the services he was attempting to sell, explaining that I’m not one to make purchases over the phone. He was quite courteous and responded something along the lines of, "Right, thank you for your time." Afterwards, I was left perplexed as to what the conversation was really about. To my surprise, I later discovered a charge on my BT bill for that call, totalling nearly £4. What a puzzling situation!

I've just found out that when you ring HMRC on their 0300 200 3300 line, if you end up on hold, they connect you to 09037049008, which costs an eye-watering £3.60 a minute! I’m absolutely furious because my son has just racked up a staggering £47.00 trying to sort out his tax issues! I’m going to lodge a formal complaint with .gov.uk as this is nothing short of scandalous!

It's a right faff trying to get hold of HMRC! They’ve got a free number that’s perpetually unanswered, and then there's this premium line, 09037049008, which sets you back £3.60 a minute. Mad, isn’t it?

Came across this number whilst hunting down the HMRC contact details online, and it did seem a tad odd at the outset. I didn’t give it much thought at the moment, but as I initiated the call, I was quickly met with a recorded message. To my dismay, it mentioned something about £3.50 per minute. I hung up instantly, but to my astonishment, I was charged £4.25 for a mere 7 seconds of that frustrating message. Total con! Just a reminder, HMRC has a free 0800 number available. - Rob
