If I’m not mistaken, this number is connected to Hermes. Their customer service is absolutely dreadful. Got hit by another con, this time someone pretending to be Hermes asking about a collection for an Amazon parcel. Took me £6 in a matter of seconds. Why on earth isn’t there a proper customer helpline without those crazy charges? Tried sorting it online but no luck. In the end, Amazon had to sort out an alternative way for the pickup.

Just got my phone bill and saw some unexpected fees. Turns out I called 09011190900 by mistake, thinking it was Hermes. What a rip off! A 12-second call ended up costing me over £6, £6.03 with VAT. I only have a landline and no caller ID, so imagine my shock when my BT bill showed two charges of £6.20 each for calls lasting just 18 and 11 seconds, made within a couple of minutes on 14.10.2020. I had no clue you could be billed just for picking up the phone. I tried to find help on the BT website and rang 0800 111 4567, but their automated system didn't provide any option that matched my problem, which was pretty frustrating. Had I known about these charges for answering calls, I would’ve used BT’s 1572 blocking service straightaway. Unfortunatly, it’s no use once the bill lands weeks later.

The automated reply kept telling me the number wasn’t recognised, yeah sure, just a way to keep you hanging on the line longer to increase your bill. Hermes failed to deliver on the promised day. I ended up paying £13 for a call to this number, which was completely pointless. I reckon this oughta be reported, but I'm not sure where to. Feels like a scam to me. I looked up the first digits, 09011, and they connect to Nigeria, so I guess the calls get routed there.

Somebody put up a post on 25/08/2019 about what to do if this number calls you. The problem is, usually it’s after the damage is done. Still, there’s some good tips if people really want to put an end to these scammers. I doubt many actually followed it though, which is probably why these fraudsters keep getting away with it.

On my Virgin Mobile bill dated July 20th, I noticed two fees from 09011190900, one for £6.63 and another for £7.76. My phone labelled it as Scam or Fraud. Virgin insists I placed these calls, but I didn't. Normally, when calls from unknown numbers like this come through, I just delete them without answering, and all my calls are made only from contacts saved on my phone. I've now blocked that number, but I bet they'll just switch to a new one. Does anyone know if there’s a better way to handle this?
