Without a doubt, Appliances Direct. I rang them 3 times, and honestly, one call seemed pretty dodgy - 73p for just 21 seconds and another call came through within the same minute. Altogether, I got charged £11.00 for the 3 calls. That said, their service was spot on. Everything I ordered arrived the very next day like they said and there were no problems at all. To my dismay, I was billed £1.75 for a rather mind-numbing six-minute conversation, the bulk of which was spent clicking through a never-ending maze of options on their automated phone system. In the end, I learned that the very product I was inquiring about is no longer in production, despite it being prominently featured on their website. Yeah, just like the others said, this Appliance Direct is a total scam. They keep you waiting ages on the phone, just to waste your time. Ended up costing me £29 - absolute rip-off, what a bunch of cheats.

It's quite shocking to think they would impose such a hefty fee for what should be straightforward assistance!

The item I got was defective. When I rang to organise a return, nowhere on their confusing website did it state that the phone number was a premium rate one. The call centre seemed to deliberately keep you on the line longer just to rake in more cash. My phone bill shot up by half just from that single call. I reckon it’s pretty dodgy behaviour. I contacted my mobile provider and they kindly gave me a one-time refund, so you might want to try that too. But after this, I’m definitely not buying from them again.

I would strongly advise against calling Appliance Direct on this number! I recently attempted to return an item, and while the initial process went quite smoothly, I later noticed quite a shocking charge of £45 on my phone bill just for arranging the return through their customer service. Rang Appliances Direct on 0871 984 4416 for help with a product I’d just bought. Their site states "calls cost 13p a minute plus your network charge" but a 16 minute chat set me back £6.89. That suggests an access fee of £4.81 - doesn’t add up to me! Feels like a bit of a rip-off. Shame really, as the tumble dryer was a bargain and the staff were really pleasant and helpful. Learned my lesson though. Watch out!

these lot are total scammers, seriously dont trust em or pick up if they ring. they kept ringing me even after I said no thanks. later I found out they wanted to charge me 55p a minute for some service I never asked for. just ignore their calls and hang up quick. lost £47.90 and probably never getting it back.

Appliances Direct sent me the wrong air con unit, despite me paying extra for next day delivery so I’d have it ready for the weekend heat (and it cost me £100 more!). I ended up spending ages on the phone, with them telling me a supervisor would ring back. They said they could only deliver the right one the Tuesday after the heatwave, or I could pay the extra £100. Felt like I was being pushed into a corner, but I reluctantly paid. Now I see they charged me £10 for calls made to them - absolutely ridiculous. Would never recommend these lot to anyone.

I recently had the misfortune of engaging with Appliances Direct, specifically their customer service line. The charges were nothing short of outrageous! I’d strongly advise against calling their number-it feels like a real con! They ought to make it clear how exorbitant the fees are (£10.26!!!) just to place an order. I'm thoroughly appalled by the service I’ve encountered from Appliance Direct! It’s absolutely shocking. I found myself ringing them not once, not twice, but three separate times just to get any sort of update about my delivery, which they claimed would arrive on three different occasions - yet, here I am, still waiting. To add insult to injury, I’ve just looked at my phone bill and noticed I'm being stung for £12! One call alone had me dangling on the line for a whopping 28 minutes while they fumbled around trying to figure out why my fridge hadn't shown up. It’s utterly unfair that we’re the ones left footing the bill for their utter incompetence! I’m livid!

What a complete con, Appliances Direct! I thought I was being savvy by saving £15 on my LG TV that was priced at £240 after signing up for a £1 trial with Which. But lo and behold, I just checked my phone bill to find they'd hit me with an £8.50 charge for phoning in to place my order. Totally not worth it! I stayed in all day and kept checking the status, which kept getting pushed back to later in the evening. After wasting the entire day without the oven turning up, I cancelled my order. Now I've found out they charged me £26 just for the call and tracking, even though my order never showed up when promised!
