Blimey, what a turn of events! We managed to get our money back, handing over £79 for a debit card, but I must admit, it didn’t sit right with us. Stumbling upon this site and reading everyone’s experiences was a stroke of luck. We promptly cancelled the card, and wouldn’t you know it, those chancers couldn’t get into our account on time. We had a good chuckle at their expense! It’s clear that these types can indeed be held at bay. We’ve tipped off Trading Standards about this murky territory; while they aren’t outright breaking the law, it’s wise to be cautious and just cut the call short with those sorts.

We've received a fair few calls from this company, claiming that four potential buyers are keen on our car. When we rang the number back, it turned out to be MotorMarket UK, which made us a bit suspicious. Are they for real, though? They just said we’d dialed the wrong number and hung up. After a bit of digging, I came across everyone's reviews, and I'm truly grateful. There’s no way we’re forking out £99.95 now. I used to work for them, so I'm wondering if there's any hope of getting my money back? I’ve reached out to trading standards and sent them an email as they suggested. If I don’t get my refund in the next seven weeks, they’ve said they’ll intervene. Has anyone ever actually received a refund through these channels? I would appreciate any advice, though I must admit it’s not particularly uplifting. I'm just a bit frustrated that we've found ourselves in this situation, especially now with a newborn and in need of a car.

I appreciate your response! We've reached out to Trading Standards, who are looking into the matter alongside our bank's fraud department. Interestingly, I managed to connect with someone I know about selling my vehicle - it's rather infuriating, as I could've avoided a significant loss had I acted sooner. I do feel a bit foolish, Claire, but like others have mentioned here, these scammers are quite convincing. Given the current financial climate, I think many of us are eager to sell our cars, and they’re clearly taking advantage of that urgency. Can you believe they tried to contact us again? Unbelievable!

Absolutely outrageous! We forked out £79.99 and were promised that they'd have six potential buyers keen on our car, with the assurance that they'd reach out within a day. What a complete load of nonsense! Just so you know, the Customer Services Manager is a chap named Michael Adams. Make sure to give them a hard time if you find yourself in the same boat as us!

We've received a call from Motormarket in the UK as well. The representative's name was Gary and the number given for us to return the call was 02476 238224. It seems to us that this is a similar scam, just a tad more affordable, compared to Car World (0845 4300318) which wanted £99.99 and was represented by a chap named Daniel Johnson, associated with the number 0208 492 3932. When we requested a written contract from both parties, they outright refused. I'm quite pleased that I didn’t fall into that trap!
