We got hit with a £4.52 charge for a call that lasted just over 14 minutes on April 16th. Seeing what others have said, I guess we dodged a bigger bullet!

Had a look at my Sky Mobile call history today and noticed on 06/10/2025 a charge of £15.08 from the number 0871 526 5265. It says I made a call lasting thirteen minutes, but I swear I never dialled that. It’s a premium rate line, which makes it even more confusing. I’ve contacted Sky about it and luckily they’re sorting it out and giving me a refund. Really appreciate their help!

So this number belongs to CHUMS for customers placing orders. I called from a Tesco monthly mobile SIM, and Tesco added an extra 55p per minute on top of the usual 13p per minute that CHUMS advertise in their catalogue. Bit annoying, really, as Tesco's charge is quite a lot higher.

I reckon this number is linked to Chums mail order, but they don’t bother giving an 03 number, probably so they can make you cough up for the call.

Honestly, you’d think the phone companies could just put a stop to these calls once and for all. It’s ridiculous how they keep happening no matter what.

My partner bought a jumper from Chums and suddenly there’s 5 calls charged on his phone bill that he never dialled, adding up to more than £12. We’re completely baffled about how this could happen. Looks like we’ll need to get in touch with the phone company. Absolute rip off!

Just noticed two charges on my dad’s phone bill - £11.11 and £3.05. He had ringed Chums once to place an order and then had to ring again. But the bill says calls lasted 28.23 mins and 7.46 mins, which is totally wrong!

I've just had a rather frustrating experience with the customer service line for a firm named Chums. To put it bluntly, we won't be engaging their services again. I'm also planning to lodge a formal complaint with Chums, as the reason for my call was due to an absolute disaster in their warehouse operations - utterly dissatisfied!

I always jot down who calls and when, but I never got any calls from this number on the 18th or 22nd of Novemeber. Yet, my Talk Talk bill is showing charges of £1.50 and £2.29 for calls that supposedly lasted 5 minutes 43 seconds and 8 minutes 55 seconds. Maybe Talk Talk could explain this, cause when I looked up the number it says it belongs to Core Telecom Ltd.

My elderly mother, who is ninety and a BT customer, decided to ring Chums on their 08 number to make a purchase on the morning of 9 September 2022. The call dragged on for 11 minutes and 36 seconds and ended up costing her £3.53. Included in her order was a complimentary polar bear plushie, which I wouldn't be surprised if it was stitched together by some poor child in a Xinjiang detention centre. It seems like the only businesses that impose such steep charges are fortune tellers, various con artists, and contenders for the title of Rip-Off Britain. My mum has been a loyal customer of Chums for ages, and I shudder to think how much she has forked out in exorbitant call fees over the years.

Got the same sort of call just like the one on 25/7/2020 - really feels like I’ve been here before. Oddly enough, it was about deck shoes too. Can’t agree more with the comment about CHUMPS! From now on, I’m avoiding CHUMS completely. The money I thought I saved on the shoes just ended up going on phone bills instead.

I reside in Surrey and recently had an unsettling experience while trying to order clothing for my elderly father from Chums. On the 25th of April 2022, I found myself making two phone calls to them. To my surprise, the first call, which lasted 11 minutes, racked up a bill of £7.80, and the follow-up call of 10 and a half minutes cost me £7.70! Such exorbitant charges really make one scrutinise the integrity of the company.

This "customer support" line is charging crazy high fees on what’s supposed to be the only way to get help. £19, yes you read that right, £19 for just 11 minutes on the phone. Honestly, avoid this company completely, it’s a total rip-off.

My mum rang this number after Chums didn’t deliver the stuff she ordered. There was no warning it was a premium call. She ended up stuck on hold for 75 minutes! The phone bill was £23 and she still couldn’t sort the problem. Honestly, Chums are awful. It seems like they’re just trying to rip customers off, especially older people. They really shouldn’t be allowed to do business like this. Any decent company would have an 0300 or 0800 number for orders and support. PLEASE SHARE THIS AND LET’S EXPOSE THIS COMPANY!

After looking into it for a while, seems like it’s a legit number. It’s the Chums express orderline. When I called to place an order, I don’t remember it being properly said, but it’s definitely shown on the bill from Chums. (Costs 13p a minute plus any network charges). Lesson learnt here - always check the fine print. Hopefully this info helps others and eases any worries.

Someone called my dad in London and kept hanging up straight away. He tried calling back on the 0871 number but no one answered. He suspected it was a scam and decided to hang up just in time, but we still got charged £4.17. Could’ve ended up costing more if he’d stayed on the line. A few people reckon it’s linked to Chum’s Mail Order Company, Unity Grove, Knowsley Business Park, Liverpool.

Just looked up 08715265265 after seeing a £5 charge on my phone bill, turns out it’s CHUMS. So, on top of what I paid for postage, I also got stung for the call cost - not really a bargain. Lucky I didn’t need to send anything back. Definetly won’t be ordering from them again, way overpriced!

They sent us a catalogue showing a great deal on deck shoes, so my wife called to make an order. We were informed the deal wasn’t valid. My wife mentioned the page number with the offer, but they claimed it wasn’t on that page. She then pointed out it was in the new catalogue we’d just got. The supervisor kept going back and forth for ages. When I saw my phone bill later, it made sense - looks like they make more money arguing on the phone than actually selling shoes. Will we buy from them again? You tell me! CHUMS should honestly be spelled CHUMPS!

I recently placed an order with a clothing brand called "CHUMS" and I must say, the items arrived in splendid condition. I was a bit taken aback to discover that the phone number I dialled to place my order was a "premium" line. However, I managed to figure out that it cost 24.02p per minute, which I think is quite reasonable! Typically, I don’t make a habit of leaving feedback, but credit where it’s due - they provided excellent service and I wouldn't hesitate to shop with them again in the future. Also, I noticed one commenter mentioned they were charged for receiving a call; in that case, perhaps it's worth considering a change of phone provider!
