12 yearsI put in a couple of job applications recently and had my fingers crossed. They called me a couple times, but something felt off, so I looked up the number on Google. Glad I did, as you lot confirmed my doubts! :) When I didn’t answer, they even left a weird robotic voicemail, kinda like someone else mentioned here, with a rude word in it. So yeah, I blocked that number straight away :) Seriously, don’t deal with them. - caller: 0871475013512 yearsOn Monday 16th March, I received a voicemail asking me to ring "the recruiting office," but it didn’t specify which one or give any names, which immediately made me wary. However, I thought it might be genuine since I’d recently applied for a job through Reed. They asked me a few simple questions and then said I’d got the job and could start that week. After that, they wanted my email, phone number, DOB, and other personal info. Like others have mentioned here, they then said I’d need to pay for a training pack and asked for my bank details. I told them I used to work in fraud detection, so there was no chance I’d fall for it. The person on the other end got quite flustered, paused for a moment before insisting I give them the bank info, saying “I don’t see the issue, why would you think this is a scam?” When I declined again, they just hung up. I really want to track these people down - anyone have an address for them? The number calling me was 08714750135.Reed12 yearsI got a call from this number recently. I’d been applying to loads of admin jobs the previous evening. When the phone rang, the caller ID showed Tesco, so I thought it was legit and answered. Then I decided to ring back the number to check. A man answered and asked me for personal info like my email, address and phone number. He said I’d passed a screening test and would get a starter pack, but it would cost me £19. I was about to give the last few digits on my card when I stopped and thought hold on, I never applied to Tesco. Plus he never said which company he was hiring for! So I told him to wait and quickly googled the number. That’s when I found this site and realised it wasn’t right. - number: 08714750135Tesco12 yearsI got caught by this lot too, but when I rang back it just went straight to their voicemail so the call didn’t last long. Like a few others here, I’m on Reed and Indeed, so I’m guessing these are the places they’re stealing our numbers from. Can’t wait for them to ring again, I’ll be telling them exactly where to shove it once I realise what’s going on. - caller: 08714750135ReedIndeed12 yearsI dialled 1471 to catch the number and thought later to look it up online before returning the call. Lucky I did, cause I saw loads of old messages about it. Like many, I’m on the hunt for a job and have been checking out places like Reed.co.uk, Indeed.co.uk and a bunch of other recruitment sites. - caller: 08714750135Reed.coukIndeed. co. uk12 yearsI just got a ring from 0871 475 0135 and it felt off straight away. The phone line went through before anyone picked up, which was weird, and then no one actually spoke when I answered. Seems very fishy to me - like why would a job want you to ring them back to apply? Totally suspect. I'd avoid calling that number at all costs.12 yearsSomeone rang me up telling me to call 0871 475 0135. They put me through some sort of "screening" thing first and then started asking for my full address and bank info. No way I was giving out my bank details, seemed really sketchy. Definitely not trusting that one. - caller: 0871 475 0135Caller12 yearsGot a voice message from this number on my answerphone, wasn’t sure at first. The number seemed like it could be one of those expensive ones, so thought I’d look it up on here. Proper dodgy scammers, I’m glad I didn’t ring them back. Been sending out loads of job applications lately and these fraudsters just try to take advantage. The caller was 0871 475 0135.12 yearsThis morning I got a call from this number with a recorded message asking me to ring back about a job I supposedly applied for. It struck me as dodgy, so I looked up the number online and, as expected, it turned out to be a scam. Anyone genuinely interested in a job applicant would bother calling and actually speaking to them, not leave some automated nonsense. It’s awful that these scammers prey on people looking for work, many of whom can't really afford to spend money on costly phone calls. Properly disgraceful behaviour, they should really feel ashamed! - number: 0871 475 013512 yearsI got a call from this number but when I tried ringing them back, it just kept ringing with no answer. Don't know who it was.12 yearsGot a call once more from a number I didnt recognise. The caller said they worked for some place called SEMIGROUP but when I asked for their website, they just didnt have one. Also, never got any email about the job they mentioned, only a demand to pay upfront for some package they'll supposedly send me. Honestly, steer clear of these people! Its definitely a rip-off!!!SEMIGROUP12 yearsStay clear of a group calling themselves Faim, saying they offer work-from-home jobs. They told me I passed some sort of suitability check to join them. Apparently, they are listed on job sites like Indeed and Reed - I’ve used Reed plenty myself, so I believed them at first. Then they demanded £19 for an induction pack, which I wasn’t having, so I said no. Best to dodge these people if you get their call - the name FAIM came up.FAIMReed12 yearsI saw there was a missed call from a number I didn't recognise, so I didn't pick up. Later, they left a voicemail and it sounded like a robo call, but the worst part was they actually called me a 'bitch' in the message! This is unacceptable and I'm planning to report them to the proper authorities for that.12 yearsI got a call from a recorded message about some Admin position. They told me to ring them back and asked me to press 1 to say I had received the message. Bit odd if you ask me!12 yearsGot a call from someone trying to trick me into sending them cash.12 yearsAbsolutely avoid that number! I got hit with a £2.50 charge just for the call, then they started asking for my address and bank info. Turns out they want you to pay £19 and then another £24 for some 'welcome pack' to start working from home - total rip off! And the worst bit? They didn’t even tell me the company’s name. Complete scam, watch out!Steer12 yearsYeah, this was their first ring on my phone and sounded like a robo-caller. I’ve been sending out tons of job applications recently, so it might be related. All I got was a voicemail asking me to acknowledge I'd heard their recorded message, so not much to go on or report really.12 yearsI nearly called them back out of curiosity. Spoke with a guy for about 10 minutes who basically said I looked like I had the right skills for the role. Then he wanted me to fork out £19 for some sort of ‘welcome pack’ to show I was serious, even though it normally costs £39. He wouldn't send any details by email either, insisting all the info was in the pack I'd have to buy. I quickly told him no cheers. Weird thing, expecting the applicant to pay to get the job!12 yearsGot a call from an automated system pretending to be from a company I’d supposedly asked about a job. Felt a bit dodgy to me since they insisted I ring them back, but the catch was it was a premium rate number! Definitely seemed fishy.Submit Your Own Report (0871 475 0135)
