10 yearsI had a rather dodgy phone call recently. The caller claimed to be from TalkTalk, informing me that my internet would be disconnected for a few days due to some so-called issues with my IP address. He requested that I power up my computer and access the control panel. It's well known that these so-called TalkTalk representatives often have thick accents and try to convince you that your computer has serious problems, only to lead you down a path where you inadvertently jeopardise your system and end up paying a hefty price for ‘repairs’. Total scam, if you ask me. When I pressed him for specifics about his location and the number he was calling from, he mentioned London and, of course, provided that same dodgy number. I wasn’t very polite in my response, telling him firmly to get lost and asserting that it was clearly a scam.
