I dialled this number and ended up with a staggering phone bill!

I just had a rather dodgy phone call from someone purporting to be from TalkTalk IT Support, insisting that I grant him access to my computer (as if!). Soon after, I received a letter that looked completely legitimate, free from any typos or grammatical blunders, claiming to be from TalkTalk. It mentioned something along the lines of 'we're so sorry to hear you wish to leave' and went on to demand that if I hadn't actually agreed to part ways, I should urgently ring a certain number. However, when I checked TalkTalk's official website, the number provided there was entirely different. I have a strong feeling that this is the same bunch of scammers who contacted me before.
