She told me there was a warrant out for my arrest over tax fraud and insisted I ring back straight away. Knowing HMRC always sends letters rather than calling, I was certain it was a scam. I asked what it was about, but all I got was some music on the line before I decided to hang up. Later, I listened to the voicemail and it mentioned a Lynda White who supposedly wanted to get in touch with me about something from HMRC. It all feels a bit fishy, so I’m going to report it to the proper HMRC department.

It’s obviously a fraudulent call. They pretended to be from HMRC, yet there were no reference numbers or any form of identification in the automated message. They left a voicemail claiming to be from HMRC, insisting I shouldn’t overlook their message, warning that an arrest warrant was about to be issued against me...yet they didn’t even mention my name! I looked into the number and promptly blocked it. Fast forward to today, the 19th of June, and I got another message urging me not to disregard this urgent matter. It’s infuriating, especially since I thought I’d dealt with it by blocking the number!
