Got the exact same message as others here - something like ‘I need you to.’ The moment I heard that, I just ended the call. Don’t bother calling this number again, because if HMRC needed anything from you, they wouldn’t send a recorded message. I’ve also looked at my GOV.uk account, no messages or alerts there. I’ve reported the number, blocked it, and deleted it from my phone. You should really do that too!

I got a call from someone called Dennis Gray warning me about some HMRC issue, saying I had to get in touch or face problems. After I tried to call back, I found the number was blocked. This happened here in Flintshire, North Wales.

Got a call from 0845 8622839 and didn’t pick up - sounded like one of those HMRC scams. Just a heads up, HMRC always sends letters first, never just calls like that. Best to just block it and move on.

I just got a call from 0845 8622839, spouting the usual threats like mentioned here. When I rang the number back from my landline, it just kept ringing with no automated menu or anything, so it’s pretty clear it’s a scam. HMRC wouldn’t do things like that, and their phone numbers definitely don’t begin with 0845!
