I think this number used to be, or maybe still is, the helpline for the BBC digital switchover scheme when they were moving from analogue to digital TV. Back then, it was shown on the telly for anyone having issues with the switch. Not sure why some people might be ringing you now, since it's meant for helping with digital TV stuff. If they're just calling you constantly for no real reason, I’d suggest blocking or reporting them - they’ll probably get bored and stop after a while.

I'd really suggest everyone get one of those blocker gadgets for their home phone. You just connect it to the phone itself, then plug your usual phone cable into the blocker thing. Just a heads up, some of these blockers need batteries while others have to be plugged in.
