Received a call from 'Amanda at HSBC' on our mobile shortly after I finished my shift, and she left a message asking us to get in touch. When I called back, there was an unclear message about a branch closure and a request to relay a message. It felt quite off - no proper HSBC branding or anything, and honestly, it didn’t seem credible at all.

I received a call from someone claiming to be "Amanda from HSBC" on our mobile shortly after a transaction. She left a rather vague voicemail asking us to get back in touch. When I returned the call, the message was muddled and mentioned something about shutting the branch. It all felt rather off, and frankly, HSBC didn’t quite sound as they usually do.
