Oh my god, same story here. The funding centre rings me daily from all sorts of different numbers and theres no way to ring back. I tried pressing a button to talk to someone and when I asked who they were, they just kept talking over me non stop and then just hung up! Im not trying to sell anything, more like sharing info but no profit for me. It was a bit pricey but I got a t#### call blocker through my phone provider, usually about £100 but KC, who I use, gave it to me for £75. Since I started using it, just one dodgy call slipped through, but Ive tweaked the settings so that shouldnt happen again. Before, id get around 5 calls daily from all sorts of firms. Its a lot, but for what Ive saved in stress, defo worth it for me.

I’ve only signed up to the TPS, so I’m not sure why I keep getting calls saying “The National Database says you haven’t had your free energy assessment which might get you a grant for a new boiler.” This is the third time in just three weeks they’ve called me. I’ve already reported it to the ICO. Other people online mention the company behind it is Aspen Capital Consultants Ltd based in Dundee.

It's that old trick about replacing your boiler that’s going around again. Anyone getting these calls really ought to report them to the Information Commissioner’s Office straight away. According to the ICO's latest update from March 2016: “They’re seeing loads of live and robo calls in Scotland about boiler swaps and window scrappage offers. These firms are saying you HAVE to change your heating system under some government scheme, which is just not true. The ICO is looking into several companies in this area who don’t seem to be following the rules, and they’re urging folks to keep flagging these calls. They’re working with Trading Standards Scotland to tackle this problem." If more people speak up about these scams, the fines for the scammers will be bigger and hopefully they’ll be stopped quicker.

Got a message from some Energy Care Centre about a National Database saying that any boiler with an A rating had to be fitted by 2017. Absolute rubbish! The real deal is that only new boilers installed need that rating, it doesn’t apply to boilers already in place. I’ve hit the option to be taken off their list loads of times. Once I even managed to speak to someone and explained I’m not a homeowner, plus the info is wrong, asking to be removed from their database, and they said they would sort it. Guess what, didn’t happen! So I pressed 2 again, went through the same nonsense, told them again I’m not a householder and want my info deleted. This time the bloke said they couldn’t do it, then just hung up on me. I’ve reported these dodgy calls to the OCI and will keep at it. Avoid these scammers!

I've been receiving daily calls from this number for a whole week, even after I opted to have my details deleted. They keep insisting it’s regarding the database for a brand new boiler. When they rang me today, I decided to press through to speak to someone. The first question was whether I was the householder, to which I firmly stated that I wasn’t and warned them that if they didn’t take my number off their list, the next person they speak to would be my solicitor. Strangely enough, right after that, the line went dead!

They keep ringing us multiple times daily, nonstop. There’s no boiler here, yet it’s always an automated message. It’s starting to feel like proper harassment. My wife’s seriously unwell, but she still has to pick up some of the calls. We've signed up with the TPS too.

Got a recorded call claiming I’m the homeowner. Pushed 2 and someone called Wayne from Energy Care came on. When I told him I wasn’t the homeowner, he just cut me off right away with no apology for calling a number on the TPS list or offering to quit disturbing me. Quite rude if you ask me. It’s some dodgy automated scheme trying to push boilers, and there’s absolutely no way to block these calls. I’ve got mobility issues, so it’s proper frustrating getting these pointless robo scam calls nonstop. Honestly, I hope whoever’s behind this ends up in a big pot of boiling oil.

Got a call from some energy saver bloke, sounded Scottish and was really rude. Tried ringing back but the operator said that number 08454390023 isn't reachable.

BOILER SCAM CALLS - when you get one, press 2 and pick up, act like you’re keen. Give them a made-up name and a dodgy address (maybe your local police station?). Set up a visit, play along and keep the appointment to waste their time since they’re wasting yours by cold calling illegally. If loads of us do this, it might stop soon. ALSO, MAKE SURE TO REPORT EACH CALL TO THE ICO.

I told them to quit calling me so much and right away the guy’s attitude shifted and he got really rude, then just cut me off while I was still talking. I reckon I’ve told them at least eight or nine times to leave me alone.
