POST OFFICE - Just like many others, I'm feeling utterly fleeced. They failed to mention that I'd be charged for this number, which I had to ring up in a bid to sort out a refund for some currency they didn’t even give me. Do yourself a favour and steer clear of buying currency from the Post Office!

I popped into the Post Office earlier to pick up some currency that I had ordered and settled online, only to be informed that my transaction had been turned down. The clerk suggested I ring a specific number for help. After chatting with the agent on the line, he mentioned that my order was marked as collected already, so he sorted it out and instructed me to hold on as the clerk attempted the process again. In the end, that phone call set me back £3.34 - what a complete swindle!

When I tried to buy foreign currency from the Post Office, they imposed a cap on how much I could get at once, forcing me to make two separate orders. The initial transaction went off without a hitch, but the second one set off a verification process. Despite having paid, with clear proof and an email confirming my collection, I found myself needing to ring a designated number. Naturally, it was a premium rate call, and my brief chat lasted around two minutes, costing me £1.50. Once I was put through, I had to pass the phone to the cashier, who required authorisation to hand over my own funds! Quite the hassle, really.

I just want to warn everyone about this number linked to the Post Office. They instructed me to ring this number when my currency didn’t go through while I was there to pick it up, despite having received an email confirming it was ready. Whatever you do, AVOID CALLING THIS NUMBER! It ended up costing me £1 a minute, and in the end, I had to pass the phone over to the Post Office staff! It's utterly shocking! Seriously, don’t make the mistake of calling this number if you’re advised to by the Post Office!
