I wonder if this was some sort of test from Barclays? I called the number back, and it claimed, "Your bank has contacted you, I will return your call shortly." Quite unprofessional, if you ask me, and it raises quite a few eyebrows wondering if this was genuinely our bank reaching out. I mean, surely Barclays should have a line that accepts incoming calls? Best not to engage with this, as it seems rather dodgy.

I've been getting the same calls repeatedly, but funnily enough, they rarely stay on the line long enough for me to grab the phone. The one occasion when someone did actually speak, they didn't say a word! I've noticed that if you keep a tally of when these mysterious callers ring, you can pass that info to the local constabulary. They'll investigate the number and reach out to them, but unfortunately, you won't receive any details about what they find out.

We've just taken out a new phone contract, which means we’ve got a new number as well. It’s only been a fortnight since we got it, and now this number keeps ringing! It’s someone asking for a chap I’ve never even heard of!

We've been receiving daily calls from these individuals claiming to be from 'my' bank. The thing is, we’re based in the UK and definitely not in Africa, so it's quite clear they're fishing for information! Our recommendation? When they ring, just start yelling like a madman! It’s surprisingly uplifting and always gives us a good laugh!

We've not got a Barclays account, and yet these blokes have already called our business mobile twice today! So, how on earth did they get hold of our number, and who even are they? Our bank, along with our private mobile provider, doesn’t have our business number in their records, which makes it all the more baffling as to how they could possibly relate to us in any way. We’re planning to hold out for the next call and try to get to the bottom of who these people are. It’ll be interesting to see if they actually provide any information when they do call.

I've received calls from this number, and I must confess, it seems rather dubious. While I might hazard a guess that it’s linked to Barclays (based on what some of you are saying), the individuals ringing us from this number have absolutely no connection to any bank. For all their faults, banks usually have strict protocols to ensure a level of professionalism. If you were to ask a legitimate corporation, such as Barclays, "Who’s calling?" they wouldn't just hang up. It's quite straightforward, really! Definitely sounds like a scam to me.

That was indeed the number that Barclays employs. We've stored it in our contacts, and every time Barclays rang me, it was always from this particular number. It’s not some dodgy spam, that’s for sure; I reckon most of you possess a Barclays account. They never, I repeat never, request your complete passwords or sensitive information unless you tell them to bugger off. You might want to keep an eye out for any suspicious transactions or if your account is in the red. Make a note of it for the next time they give you a bell.

It seems these individuals dial up anyone whose details they've snagged from some dodgy database they either bought or stumbled upon. They’re banking on the fact that we’re in a tight spot and might be tempted to divulge our personal information. It's absolutely beyond ridiculous, isn't it? What a right bunch of muppets!

This particular number popped up for the first time about a week ago, and honestly, it’s been a right nuisance ever since. We've had a fair few calls since that initial encounter. Each time, they’ve been adamant about wanting to speak to our ex as soon as we answer. I’ve attempted to clarify that this number no longer belongs to that person, yet it seems they haven’t taken the hint at all! To make matters worse, earlier today we received a call from a fresh number, 08453006071, claiming to be from our bank. What a kerfuffle!

I received a call from this number after we missed a payment on our Barclays loan. It's standard practice for them to ask for things like your address to confirm your identity before sharing any information. Trust me, they can't just give details out to whoever picks up the line!
