I picked up the phone only to be met with utter silence on the line. It felt rather peculiar, to say the least.

I had a call from this number, and I must admit I’m rather sceptical about these questionable digits. More times than not, it’s either a cold call or silence greets me on the line. Nowadays, I’ve taken to ignoring any numbers that aren’t familiar to me. My answerphone is permanently switched on, and if something is genuinely important or above board, surely they’d leave a message, wouldn’t they? Alas, they never seem to, which frankly raises a few eyebrows. Doesn’t that send a clear message?
