Somebody called my home phone and now my bill shows I was charged for it, but I didn’t make the call myself. What’s up with that? They tried ringing me three separate times.

This number has charged me three times even tho I never called it myself. What happens is, people pretend to be from some gov scheme, trying to sell you things. They say you need to press 9 on your phone to stop the calls (it’s not like you actually say anything, it’s all automated). When you pick up, it’s obvious it’s a robot selling stuff. I followed their instructions and pressed 9, but I still got two more calls after that which I think I’ve been billed for. Does anyone know how I can sort this out?

I never dialled this number from my phone, and I’m the only person who ever uses it! I’m quite elderly and was shocked to see a charge of £7.56 for this call on my bill. Really upset about it! If you need to get in touch, my email is [email protected]. Thanks a lot. Mrs E Jackson
