Received a call at 1:50 PM from a number I can't identify, so I didn’t pick up. They tried again at 3:14 PM but hung up without speaking. What’s going on? Feel free to call me back!

I can totally relate to that experience! Honestly, I’m grateful I’m not in a position where I have to deal with these nuisance calls-getting bombarded on my phone with this rubbish would definitely drive me up the wall!

The moment we answered the call, an automated message blurted out, ‘apologies, wrong number’. What’s the purpose of that? It seems like these individuals lack any sense of decency. This should surely be against the law! I'm considering firing off a letter to HARVEY, ANDREW NEIL, the Secretary, at 28 Dale Close, Forrestfach, Swansea, SA5 4NX.

Seems like there’s a potential confidence trick at play here. Just read a piece on the BBC about it. A company calls, claiming to be doing a survey, and wants you to divulge your personal details. You might think, “I’m certainly not daft enough to share our info over the phone,” but trust me, there are countless others who do. They’re called the Consumer Credit Survey Line. If you attempt to return their call, expect your BT Landline bill to rack up at around 6p per minute. Quite concerning, isn't it?

Apologies, but it seems to be a mix-up. They didn’t even bother asking for our names. I'm quite baffled as to how they can tell they've dialled the wrong number when they clearly don’t know who they’re trying to reach! What’s up with that?

We've been receiving calls from the number 08448848900 twice a day, and it's quite baffling. They don’t even give us a chance to greet them; the moment we pick up, they hang up! It's puzzling how they even got hold of our phone number in the first place, as we've only shared it with close family and friends. Brownie points for their mystery, but it’s starting to get on our nerves!

I’ve just had a similar experience. A caller reached out and claimed they had the wrong number. It raised my eyebrows, so I decided to do a bit of digging online. That’s when I stumbled upon this site.

I received a call from them, and they simply said, "Sorry, wrong number," before hanging up on me. It was quite baffling since I hadn't even had the chance to say a word!

I keep getting calls from this number on my mobile, but they always hang up. So, I decided to ring them back from our landline, and what do I get? An automated voice message inquiring about financial troubles you might have at the end of the month, saying they're from something called "Consumer Credit Line." Quite the nuisance, if you ask me!

We’ve just dialled a number only to hear some chap on the other end go, “Sorry, wrong number,” and then hang up. All we said was “hello.” Being ex-directory, we seem to be inundated with sales calls, the majority of which are pre-recorded messages. It feels like they’re testing whether our number is live, and we’re bracing ourselves for an influx of these bothersome calls. If anyone has any tips on how to block them, it would be greatly appreciated!

We've been dialling that freephone number, and we suspect it redirects to a mobile. It doesn’t seem to connect properly; the call drops after ringing just once. Ah well, looks like it’s ringing now... what a turn of events! It's rather annoying, isn't it? We’ve registered with the TPS (Telephone Preference Service) to cut down on those nuisance calls, yet they still keep coming through! We'll keep ringing that 0800 number; nothing else to occupy our time this evening!

Answered the phone, but there was a noticeable pause, almost like it was a call centre. Then some chap came on and apologised, saying I’d reached the wrong number. Honestly, I keep getting these dodgy calls all the time, particularly those automated messages. Quite a nuisance, really!

I received a call earlier today, precisely at 12:40 PM on the 19th of May, 2009, from the number 08448848900. As soon as we answered, a bloke immediately piped up with a quick "Apologies, wrong number," before promptly hanging up. We decided to ring them back, masking our number with 141. An automated voice greeted us, revealing that they were conducting a Consumer Credit Survey. They've invited us to take part in a phone survey, but honestly, we have serious doubts about the legitimacy of this operation!

The moment we dialled that number, we were greeted by a recorded message from something called the Consumer Credit Survey Line, which was after our details to refresh their files on our household. They seemed to want us to answer their queries by tapping buttons on the phone, but we decided to hang up instead. It's worth mentioning that they've been pestering us with calls quite a few times over the past several weeks.

I just received a call a moment ago. The caller apologised and claimed they had dialled the wrong number. Oddly enough, all we said was a simple hello!

I suspect this could be a potential scam, and it might be worth flagging up through the BBC. I received a call from a company claiming they were conducting a survey and asked for some personal details. You might think to yourself, "I’m not gullible enough to share our information over the phone," but believe me, there are countless individuals out there who might fall for it. This was supposedly the Consumer Credit Survey Line. If you attempt to ring them back, it could end up costing you around 6p per minute on a BT Landline. Be cautious, everyone!

I received a call from these folks today (19th May 2009 at 12:32) and when I answered, they simply said, “apologies, wrong number” before hanging up abruptly. Quite the curious interaction!

Blimey! What a weight off our shoulders to discover it was just a scam. We were genuinely worried that my other half might have been getting into something dodgy with an old mate of theirs from down south!

When we answered the call, it greeted us with a pre-recorded message saying, “Sorry, you’ve dialled the wrong number.” It’s quite baffling, really; these individuals clearly lack any sense of ethics. This kind of behaviour ought to be deemed unlawful. I suppose I ought to draft a letter to HARVEY, ANDREW NEIL MRSECRETARY28, DALE CLOSE, FORRESTFACH, SWANSEA, SA5 4NX.

I just had a call from this number. They merely said, "Apologies, wrong number" before hanging up right after we asked, "Is there anything we can assist you with?" It was rather abrupt.
