Didn’t realise it was charging me £1 per minute! I was on the phone for nearly 27 mins with speakerphone on. Since then, I’ve blocked all calls outside of my “unlimited plan” on my mobile provider (Three). Really sorry yours ended up being a way bigger bill! Properly gutted for you. I think I’ll just stick to emailing Unite from now on.

Warning to everyone - my other half tried calling what we thought was Unite union for something urgent. He found the number online and dialled it. The phone just rang and rang, and after waiting around 45 minutes he gave up. No one ever answered, yet EE billed him £78! They said that somehow the call must have gone through, maybe he was actually just hearing some sort of endless ringtone recording. Stay clear of this number!

I found a number online supposedly for Unite Union & gave it a ring as I had something really urgent to sort out. I ended up waiting on the line for what felt like forever. It kept telling me I was in a queue & someone would be with me soon. I put the call on loudspeaker & got on with some stuff around the house, thinking someone would pick up soon. But after about 2 hours, the call just dropped. I never got to actually talk to anyone so I thought I wouldn’t be charged for it. But then I checked my phone bill & to my shock, there was a charge of £76.00! I’m really upset about this. Does anyone know if there’s a way to get this money back? I really can’t afford such a steep fee :(

UNITE UNION - Total scam! I’d been paying for a monthly plan for ages without ever using it.
