Like others have mentioned, I ended up with a big phone bill after ringing ADT on 0844 800 1999. It's hard to believe ADT aren't aware of that number since it showed up on their official letters - or at least it did until not long ago. If you need to get in touch with them, stick to their 0344 numbers instead. From what I know, those shouldn't cost you anything extra.

Heads up, this number belongs to ADT. I phoned their sales team about upgrading my alarm and was shocked to find I got charged over £14 for the call. There was no mention beforehand that they charge nearly £2 a minute for calls. Because of this, we’ve made the decision to cancel our contracts with ADT, not just for our house but for our business premises too. I've had a bit of an experience with this Adi firm-does their alarm system even function? It seems this lot only calls you from this particular number because you're somehow on their radar. Perhaps they think you're a colleague or maybe it’s just a neighbour-definitely not a scam artist! So, whenever the alarm goes off, your number lights up, which inevitably leads to a phone call. Just a quick update following a few more messages I've received. It seems this is indeed the real deal-ADT, I mean. However, they don't seem to be running very smoothly. Apparently, we’ve been removed as keyholders, which is a bit baffling considering we were listed as such ages ago, well before we relocated. ADT mentioned that some folks opt to designate their neighbours instead for keyholding duties. Quite the mix-up!
