This number used to belong to BT alarms, but ADT have since taken over and switched the phone number. I had the old BT contact saved and called it when my alarm suddenly went off. Although I managed to reach ADT, they ended up charging me £5 for the call. Just a heads up!

I’ve rung this number a couple of times after finding it on my ADT Alarm Box. It’s definitely a real number for reporting faults with ADT.

Just got a voicemail from someone saying they’re from ADT alarms, telling me to call them back on this number. After checking the other reviews, seems like it might be a scam. I’m planning to contact ADT directly via their official site to let them know about this possible scam or data leak.

Had a call from an unfamiliar number and my phone warned me it might be a scam. As soon as the person said "Hello?", I ended the call straight away.

I picked up and quickly told them I wasn’t interested before hanging up, but somehow it still charged me 76p for just three seconds!

I ended up calling this number by mistake, thinking it was ADT after looking it up online. It’s just off by one digit from the genuine customer service line, which is 0344 800 1999. A few weeks later, I noticed a £12.47 fee on my phone bill. It included an access charge of £11.57 for a 13-minute wait on the line (I eventually hung up) and a 90p service fee. When I checked with ADT, they said the number doesn’t belong to them. It’s definitely a scam and I got caught out by it. Hopefully, someone looks into this properly.

A bloke claiming to be from ATD rang me up. He kept asking stuff, probably trying to fish out where I am. After I didn’t give him anything, he just stopped bothering.

Just found out that this number belongs to ADT. If you call it, you'll get hit with a big charge. Better to email them or dial their official number, which is 0344 800 1999.

Just noticed three "UK service calls" listed on my most recent Sky Mobile bill, all on the exact same day. The durations were 6 minutes 9 seconds, then two calls of 55 seconds each. Somehow, they tacked on £7.33 for calls I definitely didn't make. Really puzzled as to what these could be about.

Like others have mentioned, I've recently found myself slapped with a hefty bill for ringing ADT on 0844 800 1999. It baffles me how they can claim ignorance about this number, especially since it used to feature quite prominently on their correspondence - at least until it seemingly vanished. If you're in need of contacting them, I’d strongly advise using their 0344 numbers instead. To the best of my understanding, those should be free of charge.

I tried calling ADT to report an issue using their 0344 800 1999 number but ended up being charged £12.48 by o2 because I mistakenly dialed the 0844 number. I've emailed ADT about this overcharge and now I'm just waiting to hear back from them.

I happened to ring ADT multiple times in one day and mistakenly dialled this number. To my surprise, I’ve been billed £40 for those calls. When I reached out to the company, they were completely oblivious to this number. They actually use a different one that starts with 0344, not 0844.

O2 claim I supposedly rang this number, but I honestly never dialled it and yet they still took the money from my account.

I was on hold for a staggering 17 minutes with the ADT customer service line for absolutely no reason, and to top it all off, they slapped me with an £18.74 fee! What a rip-off! It’s rather inconvenient that I had to ring them just to reset my alarm. Honestly, I’d suggest looking into a different alarm provider altogether.

I noticed a charge of £9.25 on my bill for calls linked to 08448001999. To add to my concerns, I've been facing some trouble with my ADT alarm system as well. Quite dodgy, if you ask me!

As someone who has commented before, I must express my utter disbelief regarding the charges I've encountered while contacting ADT about a problem with my alarm system. £53 on my phone bill is absolutely disgraceful! Considering the hefty sum I shell out annually for this service, I simply can't fathom how they can justify such an expense.

like someone else said, this is adt alarms. we phoned them to get our alarm reset and ended up paying 67p a minuet. they left us waiting on hold for over an hour cause they dont have enough people working. why should we be charged because of their shortage of staff? we’re sending them an email to complain about this.

Heads up, this number belongs to ADT. I phoned their sales team about upgrading my alarm and was shocked to find I got charged over £14 for the call. There was no mention beforehand that they charge nearly £2 a minute for calls. Because of this, we’ve made the decision to cancel our contracts with ADT, not just for our house but for our business premises too. Proper annoying that they didn’t give any warning about the cost when phoning them.

I can confirm that this number is absolutely legitimate. It belongs to ADT, and we are registered as keyholders for a specific residence. The alarm went off, prompting the phone to ring. This is in no way a scam whatsoever.

I received a call and a message was left for me, but we couldn’t quite figure out who these folks were in the first place. They’ve asked me to give a bell to 084480019 and mention the contract number. The call came from 01618331250. Best not to return the call, though!

Oh yes, that was a call from ADT regarding my alarm system. As a keyholder for a retail establishment, I rely on this company to keep an eye on my security alarms. Definitely not a scam!

Just to clarify, if you’re getting calls from this alarm company, it’s because you’re listed as a registered keyholder for someone, which might be a neighbour or perhaps related to your workplace. It’s not a scam! When their alarm goes off, your number will pop up on their system, and that’s the reason they’re reaching out to you.

Indeed, I can confirm that this was a legitimate call from ADT regarding their alarm response. As someone who holds a key to the property, I can assure you it’s not a scam. They must have simply dialled the wrong number!

I've had a bit of an experience with this Adi firm-does their alarm system even function? It seems this lot only calls you from this particular number because you're somehow on their radar. Perhaps they think you're a colleague or maybe it’s just a neighbour-definitely not a scam artist! So, whenever the alarm goes off, your number lights up, which inevitably leads to a phone call. Quite the peculiar situation, isn't it?

Just a quick update following a few more messages I've received. It seems this is indeed the real deal-ADT, I mean. However, they don't seem to be running very smoothly. Apparently, we’ve been removed as keyholders, which is a bit baffling considering we were listed as such ages ago, well before we relocated. ADT mentioned that some folks opt to designate their neighbours instead for keyholding duties. Quite the mix-up!

Received a message aiming directly at us, claiming to represent ADT Alarm. We dialled 1471 and found the number: 0161 8331250. Honestly, we haven’t even considered calling either number, as we suspect it’s just a scam, and we have no ties whatsoever to ADT.

I received a message from a company whose name we couldn't quite decipher, urging us to ring 08448001999 as a matter of urgency. They included a reference number that was completely unfamiliar to us.
