This morning I got a call like this... Just so you know, you can’t be charged loads on an 08 number, the highest fee is about 40p a minute which goes to your phone company for the connection. If it was a 09 number though, that’s when charges really ramp up. What’s happening here is a type of phishing scam. Scammers make millions of calls daily using numbers they’ve bought, call you once and then forget about it. But if you ring back, they’ll probably sell your number around to other fraudsters. They mention “competitions” because they want to grab more info from you. They already have your number to sell, so might as well try and grab your address too. Trust me, I know this kind of scam well. Can't say exactly how, but I do. And no, I’m not involved with them. The number that called me was 08446480258.

Just like everyone else says. Got a call on 15th May at 09:59, it rang once and then cut off. Caller was Unknown.

How on earth did they manage to obtain my mobile number? I'm typically accustomed to these persistent nuisances bothering my landline. Who in the world could I have shared my number with lately? Oh, it must be Marks and Spencer... of all the culprits! Just hold on a minute... M&S. I thought that shopping online was meant to make life easier, not heap on more hassle!

My phone never actually rang, but somehow it showed a missed call from 0844 648 0258. Caller ID just said 0844 648 0258 too. Quite odd really!

I just got a call from this number ‭0844 648 0258‬ and couldnt figure out who it was. When I answered, nobody really spoke, just silence for a bit then they hung up. Seems pretty dodgy to me, maybe another spam or scam call. Would avoid if I were you.
