Just got a call from 0844648086, but they hung up straight away. My number’s pretty fresh and not shared with anyone, so I reckon they’re dialling numbers at random waiting for people to ring back. I wouldn’t bother calling them back, it could cost you a bomb.

I got a call that just buzzed off after one ring, so being nosy, I dialled the number back from my office phone. The line connected to a recorded voice inviting me to join a survey to win a grand - £1000 prize!

Received a call from this number on Wednesday at nearly 7:46 PM. I tend to look up numbers that I don’t recognise on the internet, and if they seem dodgy, I save them in my contacts as 'Ignore'.

Don’t know how many millions of calls are made daily, but someone’s got to be keeping count. The phone rings just once from some automated system. Saw a comment about this being a scam to cash in on the 0844 prefix - sounds about right to me. Caller? Total pain in the neck.

I rang the number again but hid my ID first. Turns out it was some sort of phone survey invite with a chance to win £1000. So yeah, all of you were spot on - complete spam. The number was 08446480186.
