We're fairly convinced this number belongs to 1st Assist or Halifax. They called us once, but the connection was rather murky on their side. After that, they started chatting about some new deal or promotion they had going on. As soon as we caught the mention of 1st Assist, we promptly hung up.

When they asked for our date of birth, we made it clear that sharing that detail didn't sit well with us. The caller expressed gratitude and then promptly hung up.

I’ve been experiencing something quite similar, to be honest. Over the past couple of days, my phone has been buzzing almost every day from this number. Most of the time it’s just silence on the line, but occasionally someone comes on, their English is rather poor, and they seem to be after something. It usually happens between 1 and 2 in the afternoon. It's honestly quite vexing. What’s particularly curious is that it seems to be linked to Halifax!

We’ve been inundated with calls from this number, continually pestering us for our personal details, which we flatly refuse to share. Despite our clear objections, they persist in ringing us, with the woman on the line being particularly rude. We’ve told her to take a hike, yet the calls keep coming. In fact, just today, the phone rang more than ten times! It’s getting rather tiresome, to say the least.

What options do I have to tackle this annoyance? I've had yet another trio of rings today at particularly inconvenient intervals. Oi, Nick! Next time those chaps ring up, just let 'em know that the person they’re after has kicked the bucket. Been getting calls from this number for the last four days, and I didn’t budge an inch giving them any details. But tonight, I finally mentioned that the person they’re after has passed away. It’s been a blissful three hours of no ringing! Hooray!

Hi Nick, We've been getting calls from 08445 811014 about four times a day, and we're fairly certain it’s the same folks behind each one. Earlier today, I reached out to Consumer Direct (I had their number handy from their website), and they offered a list of various numbers to ring for reporting this nuisance. It might be a good idea to reach out to them, as well as getting in touch with your telephone provider to see if they can help block these incessant calls.

We received calls from this number around half past eight in the evening, as well as from 0203 1035 180. The callers were asking for me specifically but wouldn’t deliver a message to our flatmate. We've lodged a complaint with the Bank of Scotland, but unfortunately, there hasn’t been any action taken on their side. BT has also declined to stop the incessant calls. As it stands, it seems we’ll continue to get these calls until the callers lose interest in our flatmate answering the phone.

Indeed, just received a call from 08445 811014 a mere ten minutes ago. A young lady claimed she was calling on behalf of Halifax 1st Assist. Strangely, she wouldn’t divulge any details about the so-called 'offer' until our identity was verified. She insisted we provide our Date of Birth straightaway! We mentioned that legitimate communications should be followed up with a proper letter. After expressing his gratitude for our time, she abruptly ended the call. As customers of the Bank of Scotland under Halifax, we can’t help but think this might be connected.

I've been getting calls from these individuals and made it clear that I don’t want to be contacted again. They assured me that they’d stop ringing, but lo and behold, they called again earlier today! It feels like the only way to get some peace is to switch off the phone altogether to avoid the incessant ringing.

I just got a call from this number, and I must say, the girl on the other end was quite unpleasant and had an attitude. She wanted to confirm our date of birth, but I wasn't having any of it. I let them know I wasn’t interested and asked them not to call back, yet she hung up on me before I could finish! Quite the experience, I must say!

Cheers for your advice-I’ll definitely give a few of those a whirl! Back when David was around, the incessant calls were a right pain, weren’t they? It’s beyond me why British Telecom can’t just put a stop to these bothersome calls! We’ve been toying with the idea of signing up with a site that helps block these random nuisances, but your insights have given us pause for thought. Much appreciated, everyone!
