Can anyone shed some light on whose number this is?

So, I got a text from 07456 608457 saying "ATTENTION! We've been attempting to reach you, it's really important to talk today. Please ring 08445718138 and mention ref 779861." Being daft, I called it and ended up on hold for ages. I'll wait to see what sort of bill I get and then post about it on Facebook as a scam. People really ought to be warned about these dodgy tactics. It's quite scary!

I got a message telling me to urgently call 08445718138, so I did. Ended up waiting ages listening to some really boring music on hold. Decided to look up the number and stumbled across this site... :-)

I got a message with the exact same ref number, so I’m guessing it’s some kinda scam.

Got a message from 07946 732 937 today.

It said something like “URGENT: We’ve been trying to get in touch. Please ring 08445718138 with ref 779861. Cheers.”

No clue what they want or who they are, which is a big red flag. Not falling for it. Honestly, be careful if you think about ringing back, seems super dodgy.

I looked up the message they sent me, and it turns out they’re just sending out the exact same rubbish every single week, only switching up the number each time.

Cheers."<br><br>I didn't take the bait. It's crazy that these scammers are allowed to use premium rate numbers. Doesn’t anyone at the phone companies do anything about this?
