Phone number ☎️ 08445670505 👆 is reported as a scam operation targeting vulnerable individuals, especially the elderly, by falsely claiming to reduce phone bills and offering call blocking services. They often pressure victims into sharing bank details and claim to represent official registers, misleadingly named to confuse with legitimate services. Their call blocking devices are overpriced compared to market alternatives, and many users report aggressive sales tactics, unauthorized charges, and poor customer service. Some have successfully declined the service after recognising the fraud, while others have reported losses and are pursuing authorities. Potential customers are strongly advised not to provide personal or financial information and to verify official registers independently. Authorities like Trading Standards and TPS have been alerted to their practices.

10 yearsI received a call from this number but there was no voicemail left. Quite odd, really.13 yearsLast week I got a call from these lot saying I’d complained about annoying phone calls - which I definitely hadn’t. They offered to send me a device to block the nuisance calls, and I said yes. They never mentioned any fees though. They already had my bank details and password. Then on Friday, they rang again but my mum answered as I wasn't home. They told her they were going to withdraw £89.99 from my account, but she said no without my permission. Honestly, they’re nothing but scammers. Don’t ever hand over your bank info to them!13 yearsThey managed to hoodwink my elderly mum into handing over her debit card info. These scammers are really slick. They told her they could slash a fake bill from £4 down to £1.33. Plus, they claimed they’d stop unwanted calls by registering her with the CPS - which is totally deceptive since the legit Ofcom list is called TPS, not CPS. Afterwards, they posted a “Call Blocker” to her and took £89 straight from her bank. Funny thing is, you can get the exact same device on eBay for £17.99 plus £4.95 postage. We’ve asked for our money back but they’ve simply ignored us. We’ve reported them to Trading Standards, the TPS, and even BBC Watchdog.Trading StandardsTPSBBC Watchdog13 yearsIt's pretty clear those two posts from 5 days back are just the scammers trying to cover their tracks. They might fool some older folks into handing over cash, but don’t think for a second we're all fools here. Can’t wait to catch you lot on BBC Watchdog. And Holly, Mikaela, Jason - make sure you flash those grins when the cameras roll!BBC WatchdogHollyMikaelaJason13 yearsthis number rang me and I was a bit puzzled about who it was. then it dawned on me that I had signed up for a call blocking service some time ago, but the original firm had gone bust. now this new company was getting in touch, probably using a script that says I'm currently paying, which I actually am. so, I decided to ring them back and ended up paying a one off fee of £89.99 for the call blocker. gotta say, it's done the trick and I'm really happy with it. cheers!13 yearsThis number phoned me recently, and it turned out to be a business registered with trading standards. They also sent me a call blocker that really does the trick. I only searched their number on Google because i was curious. What puzzles me is that I bought the device and the service, got excellent support, and the blocker has stopped loads of annoying calls. So why are there so many bad reviews? I reckon it's mostly people who haven't actually bought the product and just assume it's a scam. At least that's how I see it.Google13 yearsThey’re at it again but now using names like "Silverliningcps" and "We do not call uk". They’re still trying to convince you they can cut your bill from £4 to just over a £1. What bill are they on about?! Never hand over your bank info to them. Watch out for people called Holly, Mikaela, and Jason. I’m planning to report these lot to both the police and Trading Standards, plus TPS.HollyMikaelaJasonTrading StandardsTPSTelephone Preference Service13 yearsThe company goes by the name SILVERLININGCPS and they also ring from 0845 459 4699. I'm clueless how they get hold of your bank info, but somehow they manage to take money straight from your account and then send you this thing called a Pro Call Blocker through the post. Watch out for two folks in particular: Mikaela is the one who rings you first trying to flog the cold call blocker - how ridiculous is that! Mikaela, if you happen to see this (which I’m sure you will), honestly, I hope you end up in a really bad place because you deserve it. Then there's the boss who just goes by Jason, never gives a surname, and comes off as really unpleasant. He can go there too!SILVERLININGCPSMikaelaJason13 yearsMy mum rang me earlier saying she got a call from 08445670505. The caller claimed she’d been charged £4 each month for some service and wanted her bank details. Mum was sure she hadn’t paid for anything like call blocking. Oddly, they seemed to know the last few digits of her account and even a password she uses. Having been caught out by a scam before, she didn’t share any info but rang me straight away. I looked the number up and found this page warning it’s a scam. Really grateful for everyone sharing their stories here. Mum felt relieved after chatting to me and now knows exactly what to say if they ring again.13 yearsThis happened to me once more, a sales call with the same pushy tone, claiming they could slash my bill from £4 down to £1.33 - funny enough, I’m not even paying them a penny. They kept pressing me for my card info, quite aggressively I might add. When I tried to push back and ask questions, the woman asked if I wanted to talk to her manager. I told her that her “manager” was probably just someone nearby, a mate maybe, and then she just suddenly ended the call. Definitely not what you'd expect from a company that advertises itself as protecting you from annoying calls.13 yearsWatch out, this is definitely a scam! These cheeky lot are just after your cash!13 yearsGot a call from this firm today asking for my bank info. I told them I wasn’t interested and put the phone down, but they rang back straight away! A bloke called "Dean" said he didn’t appreciate being cut off, which struck me as odd since they’re cold calling strangers. They claimed to be CPS Call Prevention Service, but I think the genuine ones go by CPR or TPS. Pretty dodgy if you ask me.DeanCPS Call Prevention ServiceCPRTPS13 yearsJust a heads up, this number belongs to the "Call Prevention Service" and not to be mixed up with the "Call Preference Service", which is actually free of charge. They tried selling me some gadget to connect to my phone line and quoted a price for it. I told them that their whole pitch is exactly why I want to block stuff like this, then ended the call. FYI, the device they were pushing is known as a CPS box and you can easily find it way cheaper on popular auction sites. Also, places like Maplin sell the same thing for around £40. If you're keen, just search for CPS BOX online.Maplin ElectronicsGoogle13 yearsI've come to realise this number is often used by scammers trying to trick people. They use it to make you think they're legit when they contact you. If someone rings up asking for your bank details or card info, just don't share anything with them. Stay safe, it's probably a con.13 yearsSo this morning I got a call from someone who gave me a number to ask for once I answered, saying they offered some kinda call blocking service. They started chatting about the price and then asked for my bank info. I didn’t give them anything, just to be safe. Did 1471 after, and turns out the number was actually a mobile! Pretty dodgy if you ask me.13 yearsThere’s a firm pretending to be the telephone preference service, but they’ve been calling my mum and asking her for her bank and credit card info. When she said no, the person on the other end was really quite nasty to her. It’s awful the way they’re targeting older people like that.Submit Your Own Report (0844 567 0505)
