It dawned on us that we were dealing with a bunch of con artists from ME CLUB, unfortunately after I'd already handed over my card details. Their sales spiel claimed they wouldn't take any funds until the magazine arrived and I consented to join. I thought I was in the clear since I withheld the three-digit "security code" - how naïve I was! Within a minute, they had pilfered £1 from my account, and just three days later, they tried to snatch £65. Thankfully, I had my wits about me and reached out to my credit card provider. They promptly cancelled my card and blocked the subsequent charge. THESE CHARACTERS ARE UNBELIEVABLY TENACIOUS! Just yesterday, I received another call from them asserting they were aware I had cancelled my previous subscription (which was for that non-existent £65) but enticingly offered a special deal at £26 if I would just provide my new card information!

Got calls from this number a bunch of times but I always just let it go to voicemail. If you don’t recognise the number, best not to pick up, that’s what I’d say.

Beware, they withdrew money from my bank without asking! Also, watch out for this number: 0844 5679393, they seem to be connected to them.

Just got a phone call from this number. The guy said something I couldn’t really understand, then he started saying more but didn’t finish. He said he’d call me again later.

After taking part in a survey, I got called by this number pushing a mag subscription. They offered it free for 14 days, but then it’d cost £79.99. They ask you to pay £1 upfront and want the full long card number. Watch out, after the trial period they just charge you - total scam.

I have them saved under "IGNORE COMPETITION SPAM" in my contacts. I started one of those Tesco surveys once but never finished it - they were offering an iPhone as a prize and I’m not into iPhones at all, so I just left it. Honestly, they can keep their phone, no thanks!

This number won’t stop ringing me, even after I made it clear I never took part in any surveys. They said they needed a pound to dispatch a magazine. Being a bit naive and not the sharpest, I shared my bank info. Turned out, it was for a lesbian mag. I did get the magazine, luckily there was a form to cancel it, which my daughter helped me fill out and post back straight away. Still, they keep phoning. No idea what else to try now.

Got a ring from this number, and as soon as I answered with a simple hello, they started shouting nonsense that I couldn’t even make out... total idiots.

I’ve been trying to help my 87-year-old mother-in-law with her situation, but it’s been an absolute headache. She’s been having the same issues as mentioned before. I got a call from someone claiming to be from Cardiff, saying I’d done a survey for some magazine and needed to pay £1. He started going on about it, but I cut him off and told him I wasn’t interested. He suddenly got really aggressive, asking “How do you know you’re not interested, you don’t even know what it is!” He kept repeating that, so I asked him to quickly explain, but he said no, it wouldn't be quick and that he’d call back later, then just hung up on me. If they call again, I’m just gonna ignore it or have a go at them depending on my mood. So disrespectful and honestly annoying. Seriously, don’t hand over your info to these lot!

About half an hour ago, I almost fell for a dodgy call from this number. A bloke rang me up saying I’d taken part in an online survey last Friday, 1st August 2014. Thing is, I didn’t even switch my PC on that day, so I knew something was off straight away, but I played along a bit just to see where it was going. He kept going on about some cashback fuel vouchers and a magazine called 'Sapphire' which they’d send me for a quid plus postage. I wasn’t having any of that, so I ended the call before he tried asking for my bank info. I looked up this Sapphire Magazine later and it’s definitely not my kind of thing - it’s aimed at women into other women. Lucky I dodged that one! Just a heads up to anyone who gets a call from this number - don’t even bother picking up. It’s most likely a scam trying to nick your bank account details and clean you out. Stay safe!

About a week ago, I got a call where the person started firing questions at me, so I just ended the call. Then today, someone rang saying I'd won £20 in petrol vouchers for having a chat with them last week. I said thanks, and he started going on about sending me loads more vouchers for things that’d save me money throughout the year. They said the membership fee was £75 a year, but if I wasn’t interested I could just send back the vouchers and that’d be it. I thanked him but didn’t bite. Then he asked for my card details to cover a £1 postage fee. I refused to give my info, but he kept pushing, saying he was just trying to help me save money. I said a firm no in the end, and he told me not to get shouty with him - I literally whispered back, “you’re not getting anything, goodbye,” and hung up. They’re proper irritating and don’t take no for an answer. Such cheeky blokes!

I received a call from this number, where a woman with a Bristol accent claimed to be from a new magazine service called "New Life." She was quite insistent about needing my card information. She mentioned that subscriptions would set me back £79.99 annually, but I could initially get a trial issue for just £1, plus a £20 voucher for petrol or diesel that would supposedly arrive within a few days. She assured me that the majority of the £1 would be donated to charity. Curiously, they took my debit card information but insisted that they didn't need the security code. According to her, they obtained my details from a recent survey I completed with another company, which I found rather unsettling since they even had my address! When I requested a physical address for their business, she provided one: New Life Magazine, Pembroke House, Spring Meadow Business Park, Rumney CF3 2ES, with a contact number of 0800 669480. However, when I tried that number, it was unobtainable. I promptly contacted my bank to clarify the situation, and they reassured me that no payments had been processed, despite her claims to the contrary during our phone call. The bank explained that without the security code, they couldn’t have made any transactions, leading me to believe this might have just been a ploy to nab my card details. I took the precaution of cancelling my card after that alarming encounter.

I got tricked by this as well. I paid the £1 to get the free mag, received it, and then sent the voucher along with a fuel receipt like they asked in the small print. Later on, when I was more awake, I recalled the term used and looked it up, only to find out it was a scam. I then visited their website and sent them an email, plus I contacted a journalist from the Mail Online who’s covered cases like this before. They had done a piece on it, so at least I’m trying to be proactive, but I’m not really sure what the next step should be.
