Beware of this Sky premium number! Avoid ringing it from your mobile at all costs; I ended up being charged a staggering £17! I took the initiative to call them and expressed my utter dismay at the charges, and to my surprise, they offered me a £15 Tesco gift card along with two months of Sky Ultimate on-demand for free, which includes Netflix and box sets that would normally set me back £12 a month. All in all, I managed to snag £37 worth of perks just for raising my concerns! I highly recommend you do the same if you find yourself in this situation!

I reached out to Sky, but it turns out this number isn’t theirs at all! It’s actually for a premium rate call service that routes you through to Sky, but it’s managed by a different firm who will hit you with added fees. Curiously enough, the site associated with this number has vanished now. Despite the mix-up not being on their end, Sky kindly offered a credit on my bill as a gesture of goodwill.

I wouldn’t be surprised if this is a common practice for all their customers once they’ve secured an 18-month commitment. The dilemma is, I don’t really have any decent alternatives to consider, aside from now.TV, which is also under their umbrella and frankly, it’s dreadful (I endured it for nearly two years).
