I got charged 39p on 2nd June 2023 for a call from 0844824400. Then later the same day, another bill appeared for £1.52 from that exact number. On 21st June, I noticed a £1.08 charge from 08444821122. Also, on that same day, there was a £1.10 fee from 08448441111. Altogether, that adds up to £4.29. These calls seem like dodgy scams - does anyone know how I can block them?

I got charged £4 from this number but can’t find any company linked to it, even though my bill shows I supposedly made two calls to it. Just a heads up for anyone else - using a site like ww.alternativetelephonenumbers.co.uk helped me avoid these annoying extra call fees on my landline. Whenever I looked up 0844 numbers I've been billed for in the past, I found cheaper alternatives to ring instead. About this specific number 08444821122 - don’t be tempted to return the call if it shows on your 1471 or 1571. Between paying for broadband and landline rental, you don’t need these dodgy charges on top. Just watch out, many UK catalogue companies use numbers like this as part of their business!
