Got a voicemail on my iPhone the other day, some guy with a weird American accent sounding like a robot or something, telling me to ring back immediately about a legal issue or else lawyers would be involved. Pretty obvious it wasn't HMRC, but I can totally understand how some folks might panic thinking it’s legit. These scammers are the worst, no conscience at all. Fingers crossed they get what's coming to them!

I swear this bloke nearly gave me a proper meltdown! Someone needs to nab these scam artists and throw them in prison, no joke. They called up claiming I’d lost a tax evasion case, demanding £2000 on the spot or else I’d be hauled into court. When I answered, they acted like they were from HMRC or Customs, trying real hard to sound official and scare me stiff. Honestly, it was so convincing it had me shaking for a bit.

I got a voicemail from someone with a Dalek-like voice saying they were from “Her Majesty’s Customs & Revenue” (spelt wrong) and that I was gonna face legal trouble over unpaid taxes. I just hung up straight away. Then I sent a report to [email protected] about it.

Got a robocall from someone pretending to be “Mike at HMRC” saying there’s some sort of legal action against me. Thing is, there’s three people living here, so which one of us is it about? The message said I need to ring them right away on the number they gave. Then it ended with a “goodbye and have a blessed day!” bit, which was a bit odd. Yeah, I’m definitely not bothering to call back!

I got a call from some automated system claiming to be HMRC about my National Insurance number being used fraudulently. Since it was all pre-recorded, there was no chance to tell “Mike” where to shove it! Proper frustrating.
