Phone number ☎️ 08443570171 👆 is reported as a persistent scam involving automated calls impersonating HMRC, threatening urgent legal action and unpaid tax liabilities. Callers use a polished British accent and invoke pressure tactics, including warnings of lawsuits or arrest, often ending with an unusual sign-off that genuine HMRC representatives would never use. Many note no personal details are requested initially, but the aim is to intimidate and trick recipients, particularly the elderly or vulnerable, into calling back or providing information. HMRC confirms they will never initiate such contact by phone or through threats. Users strongly advise ignoring and blocking the number, reporting it to authorities and HMRC directly. This scam causes considerable distress and is unequivocally fraudulent; caution and verification are essential.

Thankfully I looked it up here before calling them back and saw others had the same experience. It really winds me up thinking about all the vulnerable folks who could fall for these scams.

I just got this annoying automated call from 8443570171 when I got home. Some bloke named Mike Wilson was going off about legal trouble and lawsuits, claiming he was with HM Revenue and Customs. He kept saying the number to ring back a bunch of times. Needless to say, I didn’t bother calling him back.

Just like loads of people are saying, I got one of those fake HMRC calls with a scary recorded message. What really annoys me though, is how they manage to use fake numbers without the phone companies blocking them - they’re all doing this fishy stuff. It’d be great if the law folks could do more than just crack down on those call centres over in India and actually figure out a way to stop most of these calls with false caller ID showing up.

CAUTION! - POTENTIAL SCAM Just had a call from the number 08443570171, and they left a rather dodgy voicemail. The message was a claim about a lawsuit from HMRC, which supposedly pertains to National Insurance. However, it's worth noting that HMRC wouldn't refer to a lawsuit in such an informal manner-this seems more like something you'd hear across the pond. They only mentioned their name right at the end, and there was no personal identification whatsoever. The message was clearly a recording, and they oddly finished with "have a blessed day." It’s highly unlikely any legitimate HMRC official or message would use that kind of phrase. Furthermore, no one in our household has ever received any prior notifications from HMRC regarding unpaid dues. HMRC has a rigorous protocol in place and wouldn’t just threaten over the phone like this. Total scam alert!

This call was proper awful, just like loads of others have said here. If it was really such an urgent matter (yeah right), why on earth would they leave a voicemail? Sounds dodgy to me. The bloke’s voice actually seems familiar - I reckon I've heard it a bunch of times before on other scam calls. Don’t know who he’s meant to be, but it’s definitely not legit.

Today my mum got a message left on her voicemail that really upset her. Luckily she didn’t ring them back but told me straight away. The message was talking about some serious legal trouble and a big lawsuit, which sounded really scary, especially for someone who might not be able to tell it’s just a con.

I keep getting calls from this number and it’s always some recorded voice claiming to be from HMRC. Don’t fall for it, it’s definitely a scam!

I got a call telling me I was involved in a court case and had to get in touch with HMRC urgently. Definitely a risky scam to watch out for.

So I got a call from someone saying they were with HMRC, and they told me I was at risk of being arrested for tax fraud. They said if I just paid the money over the phone, the arrest warrant would be cancelled. Felt totally dodgy to me.

Got a call from 08443570171, an automated message pretending to be from HMRC. They said there was a serious lawsuit with my National Insurance number. Honestly, this kind of call could really upset folks. What a nasty scam.

Just got one of those classic HMRC scam calls. They kept on saying I owed them tax and threatened to send the police round in an hour if I didn’t pay up straight away over the phone. Pretty obvious scam from some Indian scammers trying to scare folks. Stay safe, don’t fall for it!

I got a voicemail saying there was some court case happening soon with HMRC and to ring their advisor straight away - obviously a premium rate number. Honestly, these sorts of calls might panic others, but anyone who knows how official stuff works knows HMRC wouldn't suddenly ring like that. They’d always send you a letter through the post first. These scam calls need to be stopped for good!

Got a call from 08443570171, some automated voice pretending to be HMRC saying I've got a serious lawsuit on my NI number. Obviously a total scam, no way HMRC would ring like that. Weirdly, the call finished with someone calling themselves 'Blessing' giving me a blessing - really strange!

This guy Tommy, claiming to be from HMRC, was on the phone speaking with a thick Indian accent, telling me I'd end up in prison if I didn't pay some back taxes right then and there. Honestly, I think they expect everyone to be gullible. I can see how some might get scared and fall for it though. It’s pretty scary stuff.

Just like others have said, I got an automated message on my voicemail claiming there's a legal case waiting from HMRC if I don’t ring back. Pretty sure it’s a total scam.
