just got a call claiming it was hmrc warning about legal trouble. these scammers are getting bolder every day! really worried for older people, especially those who live alone, as they might end up losing cash to these tricks. now boris is pm, surely time for him to crack down on this nonsense? something’s gotta be done ASAP.

My husband got a call threatening legal action from HMRC and he started panicking. Luckily, it went straight to the answerphone so we didn’t have to deal with it right away. I looked up the number on Google and it turns out it was a scam. Glad I checked first!

I got a voicemail that had that robotic tone, said it was HMRC and warned me about some big lawsuit against me - though they never actually mentioned my name. The bloke who left the message said he was Michael Coleman and insisted I ring him back straight away to dodge some severe legal trouble. To top it off, he finished by saying “have a blessed day” like we were in some sort of dystopian drama. I can imagine older folks or those less confident with phones would find that really intimidating.

Had a dodgy call from someone pretending to be HMRC, total scam trying to get my details. Watch out, they’re really sneaky!
