They claimed I was involved in a car accident using a vehicle registered to my old address, where I haven’t lived for over a year now. I don’t even drive, which I told them straight away. Then they asked if anyone else at that place could’ve been involved, like some last-ditch effort to squeeze money out of me, and I said no. I only pick up these calls hoping my refusals will be recorded somewhere and they’ll finally remove me from their lists. But I still get loads of calls and texts, mostly about accidents or PPI, no matter what I say. I’ve started marking all the numbers as SPAM and set a different ringtone for them so I can tell when it's the same annoying caller again.

They kept insisting that I’d been involved in a car accident with a vehicle linked to my old address - even though I moved out over a year ago and don’t even drive. When I told them this, they tried to ask if someone else living there might have been involved, obviously fishing for money. I just said no and hung up. Honestly, I only pick up these calls hoping that by saying no enough times, they'll eventually remove my details from their lists, but I still get loads of calls and texts, mostly about accidents or PPI claims. I’ve started saving these numbers in my spam folder and gave them a special ringtone so I can spot if the same ones keep ringing. - caller: AMS

I got a call from Motor Assistance UK saying I was due compensation for an accident - but it was actually my wife who got into the crash. They had no clue about her name or even our car’s registration number. Bit odd, really.

Got a call from Motor Assistance UK today, saying I’d been in a car accident - which I definitely wasn’t. The person on the phone spoke with a Liverpool accent. Strange thing!
