I've had loads of calls coming through from the 0843/0845 numbers, all equally annoying. They just ring once or twice then cut off, probably hoping you'll ring back and get stung with a fee that they make money from. It's been going on for yonks and no one like YPS, Offcom or EE seems able to do anything about it. Just the other day I had three calls like this in a single day. The supposed blockers or whatever they have in place to deal with this are absolutely useless.

Today, I received my inaugural call from this company, and I've promptly logged the number into my Call Blocker application. You might want to consider getting something similar for your own peace of mind. For those receiving nuisance calls on a landline, BT has a device called the BT6500 which allows you to block anonymous calls, international numbers, and even chosen numbers of your choice. I recently bought a set of refurbished ones and while I appreciate the concept, they do feel like they were made a decade and a half ago. The interface, ringtone options, and overall quality leave much to be desired in terms of modern technology. I intend to use them for a bit longer before making a move to something more cutting-edge.
