Got a call from some place in Swansea called either abetterlife LTD or afuturelife LTD, can’t quite recall the exact name. They’re one of those cold call centres and by law they need to tell you where they got your number from. When I asked, they couldn’t give me a straight answer. Supposedly they’re meant to only use numbers from people who’ve ticked a box agreeing to be contacted by third parties, but it seems loads of companies just sell your info to them regardless. So trying to find out the source of your number is pretty much impossible, they cover it up real well.

Absolutely dreadful lot, I must say. It appears to be just a tiny clique who condescend to everyone as if we're all little schoolchildren, completely unaware of things like PPI (one would assume they’ve never tuned into commercial radio). Their attitude is quite unbearable, really. The name behind this endeavour is Christopher Ross White, residing at 13 Moorland Green, Gorseinon, Swansea SA4 4QF. If you're in the neighbourhood, perhaps consider giving him a ring or even popping round for a visit? It could certainly add a bit of excitement to his day!

When I picked up, they identified themselves as rock-law.co.uk from Swansea, using the number 01792 917760. They were keen to discuss a potential claim for PPI that I apparently have coming to me. I posed a few questions and, if I'm honest, their responses raised a few red flags. They insisted on a £400 up-front deposit to kick things off, which struck me as rather suspect. I held back all my personal details, playing along for a bit before I finally told them I simply couldn’t afford it. The chap kept pressing the issue, so I made my excuses and hung up. I kept them on the phone and eventually spoke to a woman called Sophie, who mentioned the business was based in Swansea. She definitely had a proper Welsh accent. When I asked her what the company was called, she just hung up. The number was 0843 724 5897.

Today at about 10:40 this morning, I got a call from 0843 724 5897. When I tried to find out which company was calling, the person on the other end said a name that kind of sounded like Arcor, but then they just dropped the call. Bit odd, really.

At the start of the call, I just caught the first couple of words before hanging up. I popped the number under one contact named "PPI Spam" in my phone so I can spot them all straight away next time. Honestly, that single contact now holds close to ten numbers, all from the same lot! :(

Had a chat with a woman named Katie who claimed to be part of the refunds team at some place called Rothlaw. Played along for a bit and told her I’d ring back later. She handed me the number 01792 970160. Total rubbish - they waste my time all the time, so I decided to waste theirs instead. Of course, none of those companies or the numbers they gave me are real. Do yourself a favour and block them straight away - the caller ID was 0843 724 5897.

Got a call from some automated voice saying they’ve been trying to reach me loads of times and that my refund was about to run out - classic PPI scam rubbish.
