Just after Christmas, we started getting loads of calls from numbers starting with 0843724, which I guess is some sort of phone system with lots of extensions. Along with other annoying calls, they seemed to buzz non-stop, almost every quarter of an hour. I did try speaking to those who might be calling, but eventually gave up and unplugged the phone at the socket for days at a time during the week. That helped cut down the number of calls, but we’re still getting them now and then. Our number isn’t listed publicly and is also registered with the TPS. Honestly, whoever is calling us like this really shouldn’t be doing so.

I sorted mine by getting a phone that has a blocking feature. Did it on my mobile first, and the calls stopped straight away. Then I went ahead and got a landline that can block numbers too, so I just ignore unknown calls, check the number online, and decide if I should block it or not. Works a treat!
