Loads of calls came through from this number, and when I finally picked up, they claimed they were from some injury claim outfit asking about an accident. I played along, told them I was probably set for a big settlement. The caller sounded over the moon hearing that. Turns out I might be due some cash back from something like PPI or whatever it was, but honestly it's a complete pain. Best thing to do is just block the number straight away on your phone!!

I got a call on 29th July from 08437242470, and to be honest, these sorts of calls happen to me about 10 times a week. I've even set up a contact group on my phone called 'Annoying Calls' where I dump every number that bugs me. Then I block that whole group from ringing me. Still, now and then, one manages to get through and my phone shows it's from 'Annoying Calls', so I just ignore it. Might give some of the tricks you lot suggested a go though - make up some stories and then admit I was fibbing at the end! :)

Got a call just now at 8.58 pm - seems like these annoying calls have started up again both on my phone and landline after some months without any. Not sure what they want or if they’re even genuine. Im so over these annoying calls. Now, i just humour them by saying stuff like, “oh wow, i was hopin you’d ring me back, cheers! I’ve got everything in front of me.” Then i launch into this long, totally made-up tale about a nasty crash, the other driver disappearin without a trace, my wife ditching me cos i can’t walk no more, no job, the whole lot. After blabbering for ages, i suddenly add, “oh blast... sorry mate, it was all just a nightmare…” and they never bother ringing again.
