Someone called saying they were from RCN, but I’m not sure if it’s legit or not. Can anyone vouch for this? I’m worried they might charge like this site suggests if I ring back. Don’t want to get stung by any fees.

They might say it’s RCN on the line, but that doesn’t necessarily mean it really is. I’ve never actually had RCN give me a ring myself. My advice? Just end the call and ring up RCN directly using their legit number to check if they tried to get in touch. They’ll be able to tell you if someone from their side has been contacting you or if it’s just some dodgy scam!
