Complete and utter ruse. They flatly refused to share who they were unless I handed over my personal details for some so-called security checks, which I quite rightly declined. When I requested that they put their claims in writing, they promptly agreed but then ended the call. I have serious doubts about their intentions - they seem thoroughly untrustworthy. Follw up on the call from 0808 - turns out they are legit debt collectors. I had no debts at all so ignored at first. After a while I picked up and they was very polite, plus they were actually looking for someone else. Havent heard from them since.

It turns out they’re legitimate debt collectors. Initially, I thought nothing of them since I have no outstanding debts, so I left their calls unanswered. However, curiosity got the better of me, and I decided to pick up the phone eventually. To my surprise, they were quite courteous and were actually looking for someone else. Since that chat, I haven’t heard from them again.

They keep ringing, texting and emailing non stop. If they have taken over a debt from Barclays then once they buy it, its their problem legally, and the agreement is between them and the bank. This is typical for debt collectors, they buy debts for a tiny amount then try and rip you off for hundreds or even thousands.

PRA claiming to work for Barclays. Although they are genuine, watch out as they keep ringing constantly. My balance is completely paid off and they still keep calling me several times each day. I’m just about to block their number. It feels really pushy and quite unnecessary.

Someone said they were from PRA Group saying they bought my Barclaycard debt. They called me and sent texts telling me to complete a form online. I rang Barclaycard and they told me they haven’t sold my debt to anyone. They said it’s a scam and that they always send a letter first if that ever happens.
