Just had a rather alarming automated call from this number about an hour back. A woman with an Indian accent, claiming to be from UK Technical Support, insisted that my antivirus subscription was nearing its end and that £291 would be deducted from my bank account. I’d advise everyone to be on their guard! Clearly, a scam attempt!

Dodgy lot. Got loads of calls from so-called UK tech support warning me my antivirus subscription was ending. First they rang from 0808 189 6207, then switched to 01892711207. The first time, they wanted me to fork out £299, but the next call it was down to £199. This morning, some bloke with an Indian accent rang back, but I told him where to shove it if he reckons I’m handing over my info to these con artists.

I recently returned a call to this toll-free number after receiving an automated message on my phone about a £299 charge being processed on my account. Just to clarify, I didn’t use my personal mobile to make the call. When I picked up, a chap named Clay introduced himself, claiming to represent a company called "Gogol Technologies," asserting they were affiliated with Microsoft (which raised a few red flags - typical tactics of scammers, if you ask me). He went on to say that my computer had some security software that required an update. At this point, I told him he ought to find himself a legitimate job instead of deceiving people for a living.
