Not sure why so many are claiming it’s a scam. This is definitely Lloyds collections centre’s number. I rang Lloyds main line myself to double check. They also posted letters to my home and already had all my info, without giving anything away. It’s a proper Lloyds number for sure.

I received a message urging me to get in touch with this number about a loan that was supposedly concluding. When I attempted to call, I was met with an automated system that insisted on my account information and the three-digit security code from the back of my card-something I flatly refused to provide. Eventually, I managed to speak with an advisor, but honestly, they were of no assistance whatsoever. If anyone is asserting that this is the real deal, they’re clearly up to no good themselves. I rang up the number printed on the reverse side of my card and shared what I had received in that text. Without a doubt, it’s fraudulent and NOT a legitimate communication, even though it popped up on my bank’s messaging service. Steer clear of that number, and whatever you do, don’t engage with it. They've now switched gears and are sending me texts saying I need to call a number regarding my account ***ending in those final four digits***. The funny part? Being cautious, I decided to reach out to a different number for Lloyds first, and they verified its authenticity. Frankly, I was baffled, especially since Lloyds had previously mentioned they didn’t have my new mobile number on file and I’ve yet to pop into a branch to update my details. So, how on earth did I get a text from them? It turns out, it’s a scam. Just had a chat with a Lloyds customer service representative who confirmed that the number in question isn’t theirs at all. They advised me to block the number, disregard the message, and always use the contact number found on the back of my card for any inquiries in the future.

I just gave that number a ring but felt a bit wary, so I didn't disclose any info. Instead, I contacted Lloyds through a number that I know to be legitimate and had a chat with them. They assured me the number belonged to their collections department, yet they were puzzled as to why I received that message. In reply to Niall - It's standard practice for all banks to ask for your information since they have no way of identifying who's on the other end. It's not as though there's a dedicated helpline solely for you. Even when I spoke with the authentic number, they required my details. If you’re in doubt, it's best to avoid that number altogether and ring the main switchboard instead. They can then investigate your account and clarify whether there’s an issue or not.
